Maybe. To be fair, Wiggins averaged 1.5 apg... Barrett is at 4.1.
And he's shot about 100 more three pointers than Andrew (although less efficiently).
Yeah, Barrett is much more of a "do shit" player than Wiggins. But yeah, his shot is really balky and given our track record with shooting, there is basically zero chance he gets any better on that front with us. Most likely it becomes an even bigger liability.
So you're saying Wiggins is not the type to get the key rebound and putback to win the game?
How dare you!
I don't trust Duke players to succeed in the NBA.
Hey man its like not the 90's anymore. =) If you are looking for a bigtime program that isn't really producing guys at the NBA level...sadly I think Kansas is a place to look.

I don't know that Embiid guy is pretty good. Oubre is solid. Wiggins is a starter. Morris twins are solid. Ya McLemore, Robinson haven't panned out but I would say Kansas hasn't developed NBA talent recently

Ok now list the Duke players in the NBA during that time. I'll hang up and listen.

Duke is still one of the best, if not the best, college programs for teenagers to be groomed and ready for the NBA. I would say they're flat out the best if not for Kentucky.
Here's a short list of former Blue Devils to be play in the NBA over the last decade: Gerald Henderson, Austin Rivers, Lance Thomas, Kyle Singler, Miles Plumlee, Mason Plumlee, Nolan Smith, Jabari Parker, Rodney Hood , Kyrie Irving, Amile Jefferson, Jahlil Okafor, Tyus Jones, Justise Winslow, Grayson Allen, Brandon Ingram, Luke Kennard, Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles, Frank Jackson, Gary Trent Jr., Marvin Bagley III, and Wendell Carter Jr.
There might be more that I'm forgetting, but that's a solid list considering the leap from college to the NBA isn't an easy one.
If we're pointing the finger at big time programs that have failed at producing NBA players in recent years, I think Syracuse is at the top of the list. One main reason for this is that the head coach just doesn't believe in developing his players defensively. He maintains the belief that players are drafted for their offensive prowess and that only.

Below is a link where you can view draft picks by school or conference.
I agree on Cuse they haven't had a lottery pick since MCW. It's simply not the program it once was.

I'm liking Brandon Clarke where we will be picking. He's quick, a good shot blocker and a rebounder, rebounding which I haven't mentioned enough is where the Wolves have struggled this year and the past few. (thanks Wiggins. I guess everyone but KAT to an extent). He plays with energy. He struggles on his outside shot though, so wether he could be a star or more of a quicker version of Taj maybe is what I see. Strong inside on the offensive glass.
He is older as well being a Junior. So his upside may not be as high either. But I think he is a safe pick. Energy, rebounding, defense.

I like Brandon Clarke and the Wolves could really use a shot-blocking rim protector as well as some additional rebounding. He's not very tall (listed at 6'8). So it will be interesting to see Clarke's measurements and vertical to help gauge the extent to which his shot-blocking will translate to the NBA. His rebounding is very good, but not great at the college level.
But my main concern with Clarke lack of upside. That's because I think the Wolves need to swing for the fences with their pick this June. The bottom line for the Wolves is that they need another all-star caliber player to pair with KAT. Teams rarely contend without at least two allstar caliber players. Wiggins has proven he'll never be that caliber player. And although I still think Okogie could develop into an allstar caliber player in a couple years, we clearly can't count on it. And it should go without saying that the Wolves aren't going to get that caliber player in free agency. So it's all about the draft.
It looks like the Wolves will be drafting in the 10-12 range. Right now I don't see any players with elite potential being available then, except perhaps Porter Jr. But hopefully the Wolves front office can find that sort of player and if they do they should take him. The only alternative would be trading up, but the Wolves just don't have the assets to move from #10 to #3. If the Wolves can't find a potentially elite player in the 10-12 range and can't trade up into the top 3 or 4, then Clarke might be a good pick. Actually, the Wolves might be able to trade down a few slots and take Clarke while picking up more assets.

You make great points. I also agree, we need another superstar player and Clarke likely won't be one considering his age and still lack of shooting ability. It's possible but very unlikely. He does have some key ingredients right now. He seems to have that play hard, energy and toughness, but then you never know when guys make the money wether they will quit (Wiggins among others). What made KG great was desire. It's hard to know for sure wether guys will keep it or not.
I haven't looked into overseas potential yet, the next Giannis type of player who slides to the middle of the round. Or the next Jokic who of course was in the second.

Its not the same because John Collins was much younger but I see them as somewhat similar type guys in that its the supposed upside that keeps them from going higher. I haven't seen enough of Clarke but I think he might actually have a more versatile game than Collins did on the offensive end partly because he seems comfortable passing and moving the ball. He isn't as productive especially rebounding the ball but he also is a shot blocker and is a switch guy as a big. If he keeps balling like he has been...heck does he even make it our pick? Ok that MIGHT be getting ahead of things but seriously he has been pretty impressive right? I would prefer a perimeter player and I think a lot of teams would also but nobody would be complaining about it if we had taken John Collins as a big right? Be ready for Lip to remain super skeptical on any big at any pick in this draft because of his overwhelming love for Justin Patton and desire for us to whatever it takes to get him back. =)
