Layman foot injury. Okogie banged knees again. He returned to the game though, still not good for his knee
Thanks. Hope neither is serious. I like the way both have been playing this season. Seems Layman is on the threshold of having a breakout season. He's looks to me like a genuine two-way player with picture-perfect shooting form that, sooner or later, should translate into accurate shooting. And Okogie has been a huge net positive in almost every game in spite of his erratic perimeter shooting.

Agreed. Okogie used to drive me crazy when he'd miss a pickup in transition or head out of control to the hoop . . . he's like The Facts of Life.

Apparently layman in a walking boot so not a great sign. And I agree wolves got great value for layman

I am bit worried about Layman's foot. He didn't roll it, he just seemed to strain something as he tried to explode in a forward motion.
But Martin stepping up was a really nice silver lining to that cloud! Very impressive win by our Wolves.

Solid defensive effort by the whole team, much more engaged and didn't give up as many easy drives. The Jazz really had a bad night but it still feels like a good win, making up some for the past two piss poor games. Mudiay had the highlight of the night with that Rondo like move.
We need this version of KAT more often he played like a monster tonight. He had a few plays that made me think why are you getting so emotional and trying so hard to get the refs to make a call. He's so talented that he shouldn't care what the refs do with the whistle, just stay in emotional control and play hard and winning and everything else will take care of itself way more often. 29pts, 13 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks 7/15 from 3pt line causing the jazz to try Gobert on other players because he was in full beast mode tonight. HELL YEAH!!!!!
Layman getting hurt sucks he appeared to be taking that next step and Okogie not at a 100% is a bummer because he is a nice defender and energy player hope he can get back to 100% quickly. Culver is a player I really like but he needs to work on his spacing. Sometimes he's just on top of other players on his own team which really bogs things down.
Teague was aggressive tonight, nice game and K. Martin came up big looking more like the summer league version. If his defense is passable he could be a really nice find, next G-League scorer to make an impact? Naz Reid? I love the name, and his offense game but really question his defense at the NBA.

Great Shooting night from KAT, Kelan stepped up in a big way and Roco was solid and we won a big road game without Wiggs. When Utah overtook the Wolves in the 3rd quarter, I loved how Ryan stayed calm and got the team playing well in the fourth quarter. I'm so used to the Wolves in the past giving up big leads and then losing confidence and ultimately losing in the fourth.

That's just awesome. Embiid, Jokic, and Gobert just get under KAT's skin. I kind of like it, but only when he directs his energy in a productive way.
Fortunately after some dumb decisions and lame attempts at drawing fouls, he stepped up and just knocked down shots. Those 4th quarter 3's were huge, because then it led to a wide open lane for Teague to help extend the lead.

We also FINALLY had lady luck on our side, as some team was bound to go cold on us at some point (in this case, mostly Mitchell). It's been ridiculous how guys have gotten hot against us and make jumper after jumper, even if well defended. We were due a poor outing by someone for effing once.

This so true.
Were among the worst at giving up wide open looks last year, this year we have been one of the best. Players have hit alot of contested shots against us this year.

Abe's Early Morning DVR Review:
- 15 three pointers for Towns... and I didn't hear "ICE" or "Green" a single time. It's definitely a new era for the Wolves. As noticed, just as Towns started getting out of control (and in his own head) he got hot from deep. And everything was calm again. Great to see.
- Aggressive Jeff Teague = good Jeff Teague. (I came up with that just now... nobody has ever noticed it before.)
- Good for Kelan Martin. Jim Pete has been mentioning that the floodgates would open after his first three. He was right. Martin's confidence down the stretch hitting buckets was great. Unheralded guys who were struggling leading the charge on the road vs. a good team? Wait. What?
- Treveon Graham could be a very nice person. I dunno. But he's a terrible basketball player offensively.
- Gorgui Dieng has a low ceiling as a player. He has flaws. He's entirely overpaid. But he's not a bad player. I like him more than Vonleh.
- We all know Mitchell struggled with a 5 - 23 game. But that team had several missed easy looks in that 4th quarter. Shots they normally make just bounced, rolled, teetered just off the rim. Good to see the Wolves take advantage of it.
- Bojan Bogdanovic has such a pretty, easy release.
- Covington did his thing. That basically explains his game. Not flashy. Limited. But solid with some really cool moments. It seems like Okogie could learn a lot from him. I haven't checked the numbers, but I feel like Okogie while remaining a whirling dervish is playing more consistently this season.
- I'm gonna venture a guess that Jordan Bell digs the NBA life. Is he the guy coordinating the after-game festivities... or just the first to ask "Where are we going?"
- Is Jake Layman the meanest-looking player in the league? (Hope that foot isn't a many weeks thing.)
