Bloop, you're a smart guy. You can't be serious with this. There's a better chance of the Easter Bunny coming to my 4th of July celebration than that trade going down.
You can say the exact same thing about the Cousins trade not too long ago, stop assuming every NBA GM is a genius. Again this is being talked about by the Bulls reporter this isnt just a pipe dream anymore.
I think it is going to take more.
But the wolves traded an all star in love for a backup PF and an unknown in Wiggins.

They probably could but they might not want to give up assets when they can't beat the cavs now
If they added Butler they would be well on their way to competing and it would likely attract another top level FA this summer. I don't think the Bulls are basically going to settle for #7 for Butler and I don't think the Wolves are going to go much higher than that with anything of significant value.
I'm not saying they won't do a trade.
But what is better blake griffin, #3 (Tatum) and the rest of the team still in place.
Or Butler and they would have to realistically trade crowder and the #3 pick. And if they want another max player they would have to realistically trade bradley also to get cap.
Also is a team of IT/Bradley/Butler/brown/horford good enough to win a championship next year. And Butler and IT are both high usage players. They still well need to pay smart, bradley and IT next year and Butler the year after that
The question for any of these trades is what value does the #7 pick have? I'm really not sure based on how I expect the draft to unfold. Of course if a guy falls...it could change things including the Wolves saying we are keeping the guy we wanted all along like they did last year.
I think we are sort of off here (probably my fault due to my poor grammar).
You said the Celtics can trump any offer the wolves would realistically make (I agree).
I am saying that I don't know if the Celtics are going to cash in assets to get Butler. They are in the perfect spot where they can "fake" compete with the Cavs and fans are still happy because they have all their assets still. And then if lebron leaves in 2018 out west they can "cash" in and go for it.
Now if the Celtics are off the table because they don't want to cash in, who can offer the most.
The wolves with assets of lavine, #7, Dunn, rubio, Dieng
Cavs: love
Suns: Bender, christ, #4, ulis.
I'm not sure. Or are any of these assets good enough
Yeah we agree. Here is the thing. The Bulls don't have to trade Butler either. I'm just not sure what the Wolves are willing to offer the Bulls would accept. I don't buy Lavine being on the table.
I think If the Suns offer Christ then the Bulls would have to accept that. Lol The Suns have a bunch of assets. Another team that COULD jump into the fray for some of these guys is a team like the Nuggets.

No, it IS a pipedream. It's not happening. Do you believe everything you hear? It would take at least Lavine and #7 and I'm not sure that's enough.

I also agree. It is that time of year and the lip info at least gets me excited. But the thing is do the Bulls want to be in the same situation as the Pacers where there star can leave. Butler has higher value in my opinion because he is a 2 year rental at worse.
Like next year do the Celtics want to give up an asset for possibly one year of butler.

Jester1534 wrote:Not the greatest basketball mind here but wouldn't it make sense for Celtics to wait for a year before making a power move in the east? Why not load up with young talent (probably Jackson) and try to sign Hayward and take your chance against the Cavs this year and then the year after that Cavs will probably be blowin up and put in rebuild mode.
I don't think so. They can try to sign Hayward, but there's no guarantee they'd succeed in signing him and they certainly won't know by draft night. Moreover, Butler's a better overall player right now than Hayward. Finally, recall that the Celtics had the best regular season record in the East and they did that without much contribution from Jaylen Brown. Yet, Brown showed in the playoffs that he can be an elite player. Although Cleveland handled the Celtics in the playoffs, the Cavs are not the Warriors -- not as good and not nearly as young. Again, the Celtics are already knocking on the Cavs' door in the East. Unlike the Wolves, they're ready to add a player like Butler.
I can see the Celtics trading their #3 pick, the Sixers pick they just acquired, their 2nd round pick and Olynyk for Butler and the Bull's #16 pick. I'm not even sure it would take that much. The Celtics would still have their entire core in tact with an up-and-coming Jaylen Brown and the addition of Jimmy Butler. They could infuse the team with more upside talent using the Bulls' #16 pick. And they'd still have their own pick and the Nets' pick in 2018.
Maybe I'm being a Homer so it is clouding my judgment but I would rather have Hayward and keep all assets then trade assets for Butler.
Also if they got #1 (Brooklyn) and #2 pick (Lal) next year they could make a big push at anthony Davis. And have the bird rights of smart, bradley and IT.
If they would have all these assets in IT, Smart, bradley, brown, crowder, Hayward, taytum, Horford and 2 super high picks to try and get Davis. And that is not possible if the obtain butler
Some smart folks that know the cap very well have suggested the Bulls could end up with Butler and Hayward. They would obviously have to give up some of the decent players they have but it could be done. Trading down to 3 gave them more cap room as well. I doubt they did it but damn that would be a heck of a squad.

I don't recall saying I thought it was a sure thing. I think there's a chance and people with more connections than you have talked about it as well so what exactly is the issue? You have your opinion on the trade but I don't know why you're trying to make it sound like you have any facts on what a deal would take.
Kekgeek I mentioned Gorgui in terms of you thinking we needed to add more to get the deal done. Dunn, Gorgui and 7 would still be a pretty great deal for us
