The Isaac hype is getting out of control at this point.

I'm not sure it's hype, Brightside. I don't see any LeBron's in this draft and not even any KATs, so any opinion by me about Isaac would be tempered by that limitation. But in comparing him to other players in the lottery, I agree with the opinion of some anonymous scouts that he may have the biggest upside in the class. Of course it's always difficult to project how a skinny 18 year old is going to end up and he clearly has some work to do before he can be a contributor in the NBA, but I do find him intriguing. I would be as happy with him at 7 as any player with any likelihood of being available, but that doesn't mean I think he will be ready to add to our win total as a rookie.

This is exactly why I am serious about him going #1. There are no clear cut studs, Isaac is in the highest tier in terms of potential, he has mismatch potential as a four, Boston has plenty of depth to bring him along slowly, and they have WAY too many guards already. I'm betting they trade the #1 to the sixers or kings. If they cannot find a deal I can actually see them taking Isaac at 1.

You make a worthwhile case. I think ultimately Fultz's combination of size, skills offensively, and athletic ability will be pretty tough to pass up. I can see why someone would think considering Isaac as #1 having the hype being out of control. The more I look at this draft I think it's been somewhat overrated except PG depth.

How about OG as Iguadala? I actually think he would be more of a difference maker than Isaac for us (after he makes a 100% recovery). Didn't we have 3 guys averaging 20 ppg last year? I have a man crush on OG, but if Thibs thinks scoring is our #1 need, he may take Markennan in front of Isaac.

What was the hype on this board for Wesley Johnson? That is what Isaac is starting to feel like. He is being anointed.

No hype from me and I know many others weren't on board with the pick on the ESPN board. I vehemently posted against Wes before Kahn took him. Wes wasn't even in my top 14.

The difference is that Isaac is much younger than Wes Johnson. That makes him even more tantalizing, because people envision him potentially growing another inch and adding 20-30 lbs.

I'm skeptical of all rookies, especially lottery picks, (except may be KAT - I REALLY wanted him), so you won't see me hyping any one guy, but I can understand the love for Isaac.
