Jim Pete with the ultimate prisoner of the moment commentary. Wiggins makes a three and an aesthetically-pleasing layup to end the half and Jim says, "He's having a great season. You have to admit it." He's had his moments, but by all accounts he still has a long way to go for it to be a solid season let alone a great one.
Good fight from the Wolves tonight through the first half. Hope they don't come up flat in the third quarter.

Man, amazing what simply changing our approach in shot selection has done. 9-23 from 3 from the Wolves in the first half. Last season we average making about 9 3s per game! Kept us in this game so far.

You don't think he's had a solid start to the season?

I thought Culver played a confident stint. The results weren't great, but he seemed way more decisive.

Well, it certainly helps that guys are MAKING those threes tonight at a rate that is unsustainable in comparison to their statistical norms.
Wiggins: 3-4 3P
Covington: 3-4 3P
Napier: 2-5 3P
Graham: 1-2 3P
Wolves can't rely on THAT kind of shooting to continue. They've only shot eight free throws tonight and Bell has half of them. I'd like to see Wiggins and Teague attack the rim more and get those freebies.
Regression from three is likely in the next two quarters of play.

It depends on what context. He's had a solid start if you compare him to the last two years of himself, but he's been meh overall from a league-wide perspective. There have been the usual flashes of great play -- namely, the end of the Brooklyn and Miami games -- but the whole picture looks less impressive when you dig into the matter.

Perhaps, but we'd have no chance if those were mid-range to long 2's instead.
Also, Brook Lopez is one of the best NBA bigs in the league at defending the rim. He plays drop coverage and simply walls up. The man is huge. It is very hard to get a clean shot off and they just beg you to take floaters and mid-range jumpers....very similar to what our bigs are starting to do this season. Brook is the absolute ideal big man to play with Giannis. Defends the paint and makes 3's.
