It's time to move on from Ricky Rubio
Re: It's time to move on from Ricky Rubio
I still think the Okafor for Rubio that Cool mentioned in one of the game threads is the only real potential possibility and even that would be a stretch. Unfortunately the worst time to deal a player is when we are all sick of their contributions. Everyone scouts and watches film. Teams would know why were trying to get rid of him or Muhammad. A Rubio trade this year doesn't save this team anyway. If anything we wait till the deadline when we might have some leverage due to injury.

For me I think it's early in the Season and the Thibs era to go full Porkchop and say it's time to move on from Rubio. However I think its looking more likely it will happen. If he is moved it's because he isn't going to be the right guy...down the road not because he isn't giving the team enough right now. Heck that's part of the reason the guy is still here is he was supposed to be good enough to help the team win more games and transition into being like good and stuff. As a Rubio fan I've said he hasn't played well enough this year pretty early. The last couple games he has looked more like the Rubio that does his thing and is generally a net positive. Again like many other things this season it's a bit early and let's remember this team has played well to start its later in the game that there are problems. Rubio's value could still come through and this team could come together. And for Pete's sake let's not give up on Dunn less than 20 games into the season and that's coming from a guy that was not enamored with him and wanted someone else.

I think we all better get on board with Dunn taking over soon. Well, unless the defense backs off 10 ft like they do with Rubio.

Yeah, I highly doubt that. Last game, Dunn inbounded a pass from the baseline that was so far off target it resulted in an over-and-back violation. Thibs immediately looked towards his bench in disgust and violently yelled, "RICKY!" It was easily heard over the broadcast. Don't hold your breath on Dunn being handed the keys to the team just yet. He has a lot of growth necessary before it becomes a real thought.

And of course, Ricky and Bazz look great so far tonight.
