And yet the Wolves could have easily won this game if they hadn't brain farted and also hit some shots.
Not really sure, when the spurs increased the pressure the wolves didn't respond. They got their assess kicked when the game mattered most.
Did the Spurs really force all those those stupid turnovers? They looked more like dumb plays to me. Also the Wolves did respond late in the game. They didn't make the shots. That's how I saw it.
Obviously the Spurs are way better than the Wolves right now. That's no shock. The Wolves had sort of a shot to win this game even late against one of the best teams in the league. It's. It a silver lining but I'm not that pissed either. The effort was there all game including Andrew Wiggins.
I hope Tim gives a game report. It's always interesting to read what people see in person and sometimes it's even more interesting what they observe at a visiting arena.
--Overall pretty good effort. Simply put an elite, veteran team waited until it's young foe started making errors and then they capitalized. Sort of like a tennis player that doesn't go for many winners but keeps returning the ball until he senses weakness, then goes for the kill. As soon as the Spurs took the lead at the end of the 3rd it was over.
--Gotta give Kawai credit. That's called dominating on BOTH ends of the court. That is the kind of game that neither Wiggins or Lavine has ever played. My question: how much physically stronger can Wiggins get? He needs it or maybe he needs to be playing the 2.
--Dunn has lost all confidence. It seemed like he was turning the corner for a bit, now he looks lost out there. The little I saw of him in college, he seemed like an attacking, aggressive guard that was looking to make something happen. Now even when he dribbles wide open into the lane he looks like he doesn't want to shoot. I don't know if this is the Thibs effect or what (because Rubio also looked uncomfortable in this system for a while), but he needs to find some game again. I was literally cringing when he was on the court at the end of the 3rd, then Thibs was forced to bring Rubio back quick and he looked gassed in the end. Most of the starters did.
--Thibs played 8 total players and one of them for only 9 minutes. I just don't know if this is the way to win. Rush was doing some good things for us. Now he doesn't play at all? What about Cole? They hurt us inside tonight, could have he gotten some burn?
CP3 is out Thursday, so is Blake. The game is now winnable, and a 1-2 trip would be acceptable. Then there is an easier stretch. Overall they have been playing much better despite the Dallas game. Now is the time to make a move and keep in the conversation for the 8th seed. At the very least it would be a welcome change if the games after the all-star break weren't completely meaningless.

Yep. We've seen this story before. For many, many years. It's been happening in the NBA for decades.
It's a long NBA season. Good teams know how to set the pace. And wait... and wait... and pounce.
The Wolves weren't able to run away... and when the pressure was turned up... the Spurs pounced. After giving up 71 points in the first half... they gave up 35 in the first 22 minutes of the second half. That's not a fluke.
Good teams get better under pressure. Bad teams get worse. Rinse. Repeat.
