Crawford saved our ass last night, but on balance, he's been more of a liability than an asset. His defense is awful, far worse than Wiggins and probably even worse than Bazz.

I think one of the mistakes Thibs made was going after Crawford vs. a Thabo or Mbah Moute.

I wasn't thrilled with the possibility of Luc but I think you are spot on here. Combining Bazz and Crawford in any unit is suicide.

I also agree. The roster balance isn't the best. Thabo would have been a nice addition. But at least Crawford can spark our offense and hit big shots in big moments. Butler is the only other player on our roster who seems capable of doing that more than sporadically.

Its probably worth noting that Thabo got more with the Jazz than Crawford at 2 years 10 million.
It was kinda cool that Crawford turned down the Cavs to do something here with a team that hadn't done it. We just needed another wing guy and Bazz hasn't been it. I still like that Thibs swung for a young guy that had been here. So far it hasn't worked out. Jon K said on the podcast today he really wonders if there is something else going on at this point. He has not heard anything but he said its just strange he hasn't played at all. Souhan said he was surprised that Bazz didn't have any negative body language and Jon said he isn't surprised at that because Bazz is a good guy and there is plenty of vets around to be a good influence. When Crawford was on Wolfson's podcast a few days ago he asked Jamal about what he is doing to help Bazz out and Crawford said he is telling him to keep working hard and be ready and he thinks Bazz will have a chance he needs to stay ready. Crawford said basically Bazz is doing all the right things staying ready. Jon did mention to Souhan that Bazz may be just resigned to his fate at this point. We will see.

Interesting info, Monster. I think there's something more going on with Bazz, but so far no leaks of any kind in that regard. I like having Jamaal for what he provides -- instant offense, great energy and true professionalism. I wanted another wing better than Bazz, but we ran our of cap room. Belly's injury has really hurt because he can play the SF position off the bench. We'll just have to see how things develop. Maybe MGH will develop into more than he appears to be. Maybe Bazz will get back on track and start playing like he did his 2nd and 3rd seasons, but playing better defensively as he did last last season.

His contact doesn't match his production, and his role is repetitive with Taj, who are both outdated players and should be 20 minutes a game players. For that reason a trade should be explored and at the least management should be open to the idea And to say he shouldn't or won't be moved because Tibs "likes" him or praises him publicly is insane and just plain stupid. That's the same mentality most criticize Tibs for.

Lol. I know longer carry a torch for Gorgui. He's been replaced by my new love, Jimmy Butler.

Yes, I do think it's highly unlikely that Thibs will trade Gorgui. Why? First, because the Wolves have no one else on the roster to fill the PF position if Taj goes down or even to come off the bench and play the 15 minutes Taj doesn't play. He's also needed to fill in if KAT goes down. Thibs isn't going to risk having to depend on Cole Aldrich. Second, Thibs really likes Gorgui. It's not a carnal love or hero worship like I had for Gorgui. He likes Gorgui's game. You have a strange sense of insanity or stupidity, because most people would assume that coaches prefer to keep the players whose games they like - especially when they fill a need. We'll see what happens.

My own preference for not trading Gorgui this season tracks what I believe to be Thibs' thinking. First, we have no one else to fill in if either of our starting bigs go down. Second, I like Gorgui's game. Third, he gives us a longer term horizon than Taj Gibson. However, I can see trading Gorgui for a wing next summer when we have the chance to use the MLE to fill the PF void otherwise created by dealing him. Maybe we package him with Wiggins in a major deal next summer.

Flip always preached patience in my dialogue with him. The time to make trades is next summer unless some contending team desperately needs someone we have to fill a void and approaches us this season with an offer we can't refuse. I think everyone except Butler and KAT should be on the table as possible trade pieces, although I wouldn't recommend a major overhaul. Of course, I'll probably be calling for Taylor to fire Thibs at the end of the season, but that wouldn't surprise anyone. :). Honestly, if the Wolves do well the rest of this season with the challenging schedule ahead I might be OK with Thibs staying.

In the meantime, I'm fairly certain of of two things the rest of this season: But right now, I'm First, none of our current rotation players -- Butler, Taj, Teague, Wiggins, Wiggins, Gorgui, Tyus and Crawford -- will be traded. Second, Thibs won't be fired. Call me crazy, insane or stupid, but you'd have to be pretty daft to see it differently in my view. :)
