If Teague is the plan I would have forced Cole on the Jazz to try and have that extra room for Redick or Iggy or someone else.

I've been a big Rubionfan from the beginning but I'll also stayed relatively realistic about him I've rhe years. I've been thinking for months whether Rubio's good months was the start of something or a tease of guys like Calderon and Jack went through on their way to be fringe starters. Utah may end up with a good enough player in Rubio and depending on what happens there it could work out good for them. They could end up with a fringe starter.

Rubio unless he could hit a 3 was a liability that had to be overcome. That chart of players left wide open was not a good sign for him although not surprising. His fit here with the players here was questionable it's hard to get around that.

I'll be honest if the Wolves could have gotten a 1st round pick like they did in this deal and take no salary back I would have been very tempted to do that deal a year ago. I would have for sure been interested 20 games I to the season when he was playing terrible even with Dunn looking awful. The Wolves got a pick that's likely to come to them in 2018 and give them a chance to get a decent young player cheap OR it gives them an asset they could move in a deal.

The bottom line is I hate to see Rubio go but I think they did really well here and they could sign a player or 2 with the money they have up and then add a PG because guys like Teague and Collison probably don't have a significant market at some point and here they will absolutely get to play and for a good team and for a coach that has let his PG run wild if they can score. It may end up not working out but I think it was a good move that may end up maximizing everything they had avaialable to them. I'm surprised and honestly impressed. We will see what is next.

Also I am happy that Rubio is going to a team that won't just suck. Utah has enough talent they will at least be competitive and they obviously value Rubio giving up an asset to get him.

Doesn't mean a smaller piece couldn't come back to Minny tho

I'd rather have the pick.

We're obviously clearing space to sign a FA PG. If it's Holiday, I'll be really pleased. If it's Lowry, I won't be thrilled because of his age, but it fits a win-now strategy. If it's Teague, I'll be pissed.

I am pulling for Gordo to stay in Utah. I wonder if he had input to this move

It must have been so hard playing next to an all-star and MVP candidate in Love. Ricky played with 1 trash roster the year after Love was traded when Wiggins and Zach were rookies. Other than that every team he was on underperformed to their expectations.

Wig and Zach's rookie year is the year he was out the majority of the year with the bad ankle sprain

So you're saying he had no excuse then because that was the only real garbage team he was on and he didn't even play? Every other year they underperformed expectations.

Lowry and Ibaka have the same agent. Sign Lowry and trade G to Toronto for Ibaka? Package deal? Sign vet min guys to fill out the roster and add the depth next offseason.

What's interesting about your argument is that Love himself thought the teams he played on here were trash based off his actions. Im not sure how this can be disputed.
