No, he does need to get in front of Covington there. It just seemed like Wiggins was behind by a lot when all Embiid did was rub him off a little bit. Complete breakdown from everyone.

Yet another example where the KAT/Wiggins combo got burned defensively. We saw this against Houston too on Ryan Anderson and then Ariza's 3-balls.

These guys can really shine when guarding one on one in space. But get them involved in screens and off ball player movement and they easily get flummoxed. I don't know if it's a lack of communication, awareness, or what, but it's a problem that keeps coming up and it's one of the reasons we lose close games.

Covington was also bricking outside all night. With where KAT was positioned there Wiggins should have gone under and around and forced the outside shot.

P.S. I love Towns' game, but am I the only one getting extremely annoyed with his constant bitching? He spends time bitching and gets taken out of plays. Cost us 2 free throws from a technical. His constant bitching is causing him to gain less respect from officials, and he loses his head and makes bonehead plays. I can't stand watching it.

No, Wig should have been much more aggressive but KAT needs to leave his man and go get that ball.

KAT could have, but that wouldnt have been easy. Belly played it much worse in my opinion.

Could be, I'd have to watch it again.

I couldn't get myself to watch tonight's game and I'm glad I didn't. Reading the posts in this thread, especially Cam's and Cool's I get a pretty good flavor for what happened. A lot of the same old same old... Looking at the box score, I'd say that our defense was good enough in that we held the Sixers under 100. We're built right now to outscore opponents and holding them to around 95 points should be good enough. But when Wiggins shoots 2-15, I wouldn't expect us to win. Even worst than KAT's 3-15 the other night against Portland but without KAT's double-digit rebounds.

Didn't see the game but caught highlights of last two plays. Rubio gets that look every time and I have faith in him making it. Should be used more often. Last play was a combination of our usual woeful defence as well as a great offensive play by Philly.

Wiggins just couldn't get anything to go. Most shots weren't even close. One of those nights I can't explain for him.

Just before a timeout, Rubio brings the ball up the court and throws skip pass to an open Lavine who chooses to pump fake rather than take the open 3. He drives and kicks it to an open Wiggins who chooses to pump fake rather than take the open 3. He posts his man up and eventually takes an off balance mid range shot that misses. Someone teach this kids to pull the trigger from 3.

YES.

My usual late DVR take... I waited and waited and waited to bring this up... glad somebody else noticed. One other note, right before this play, LaVine took a contested 20 footer.

There's an exceptional chance the Wolves are the dumbest team in the league. It's either Phoenix, Philly or Minnesota.

Exactly, Kiwi...that's why the constant discussion of the Wolves playing 4 on 5 is such a non-starter for me. Ricky doesn't look for his shot throughout the game (only took 3 tonight and made 2) because he is a gifted passer and 3 of the other 4 starters are already gifted scorers (and much better scorers than they were in college, thanks to Ricky)...and the resulting 104 PPG tells me that our offense is not the problem, and that this 4 on 5 discussion is overrated. But there will be times when teams will double one of our scorers and leave Ricky alone at the end of the game, and as Q pointed out in another thread, he appears to have considerably more ice water in his veins than our youngster. I'll let him take that wide open shot with the game on the line any day, and feel confident that he has as good a chance of scoring as anyone...it's interesting that he proved Q's assertion on the very day he made it!
