Well there was a recent article from espn saying how Glenn Taylor would like to see Ricky's shooting get better . Does that matter to you as much as Wiggins rebounding becuz of where the concern came from?
Huh?? I know you have a Rubio obsession, but I have no idea what you point is?
We all know Rubio's a poor shooter. His numbers bear that out.
There appears to be some debate about whether Wiggins is a poor rebounder. I think the numbers suggest he's pretty bad in that department, but some more nuanced stats suggest he's not that bad. That's an interesting debate and anyway I'm convinced he can improve - hence my reference to Jimmy Butler.
My only point regarding Thibs was that when the head coach and President of Basketball Operations says you have to improve your rebounding, then regardless of what any of us think you'll be expected to improve your rebounding. What Glen Taylor says about a player honestly doesn't mean much. But I seem to recall Thibs saying something to the effect that he wants to see Ricky improve his shooting, although he didn't seem as emphatic as he was when referring to Wiggins rebounding. In any event, if I heard Thibs right, I suspect Ricky will be expected to improve his shooting. I'm not counting improvement and I'm fine if he doesn't because we have plenty of scorers and because of all the other things Ricky does so well. But as with Wiggins, what Thibs thinks matters a lot more than what I think. Shocking. :)

I'd rather Wiggins spend his time in transition than focus so heavily on the boards so he gets back on D and gets out on offense to try to get some easy buckets. He's also always seemingly in the thick of things going for rebounds when games are on the line also so I think he knows when to go for boards and when to leak out in transition. The bigs and the ball handlers should stay back for the boards unless we need to get stops (in which case it's all hands on deck) because they have the best chance of bringing down the board (bigs) and pushing the ball after the board is brought down (ball handlers). Wiggins doesn't really fit either category so he's probably better off getting out in transition to use his size and athleticism to get some easy buckets as an outlet guy before the defense gets back. I just don't see Wiggins' rebounding as much of a problem or a necessity as long as he's staying home when we need stops and gets out in transition the rest of the time.

Khans nailed it.
You want your wings focusing on getting up the other end of the court and your bigs crashing the glass. Especially with the way our roster is built.

The problem is we have both Wiggins and LaVine leaking out and often leaving us undermanned on defensive boards.

Agreed and yet his all star year was at SG wasn't it?
I think McCants was a guy with potential AND he actually did show some production but he had questions about mental stuff both on and off the court.
I really don't remember Rider playing all that much for the Wolves he was very talented but...even more issues.
I feel like I have to be forgetting someone else but I don't think so. Ricky Davis was 26 when we traded for him...man that guy was actually talented and again it was something between the ears.
