Also, because he's part of the topic, I listened to Thibs on The Lowe Post yesterday (the podcast is from March) and he was talking about how he tried to get Taj Gibson to start shooting more corner threes instead of that long 2 from the baseline. He also talked about how Doc had discussed getting KG to shoot more threes as well, but KG was just too comfortable and set in his ways from 18-20 feet. Those tidbits came from Lowe and him talking about whether Blake Griffin should take more threes. Thibs basically said he'd have him work on corner threes and see how it goes from there, but also said that Griffin's so good out of the P&R that he didn't want to take away a dominating strength of his.
I love Thibs. He brings the right identity that I think this team needs, he's way better as an offensive coach than most give him credit for, and he's just a winner. That guy just pulls wins out of his ass. If you don't believe me, go look at the Bulls roster that made it to the second round of the 2013 NBA Playoffs. Beat Brooklyn in the first round, which was miraculous at the time, and even won a game against the MVP-led Miami Heat.
I have to believe Thibs looks at the raw ingredients of our squad - specifically Wiggins, Towns, Rubio, and LaVine - and probably thinks to himself he could turn them into a top 5 or 6 defense within two years. Perhaps add one of "his guys" into the mix like Noah off the bench to help reinforce his principles. I'm not a huge Noah fan anymore because offensively he's fallen off a cliff - the guy can't even make a free throw anymore. But I can see his value if Thibs were to come here.

"His guys" how can you forget KG is already here. ;)

Right, but Noah is a younger version of KG (not as good of course) and has experience with Thibs as a head coach vs. assistant coach. But yeah, KG is going to be in the mix somehow no matter who coaches.

We're a Kirk Hinrich acquisition away from signing Thibs.

We'll see. Those are all the sexy names. But do those guys want to come here and work under Glen Taylor? Reality might look more like Kevin McHale, Randy Whittman....etc, etc. I'm not trying to poop on the party. But I won't believe it until I see it. I just hope whatever happens, happens quickly and the people are in place in time to take full advantage of the draft. This is a big off season.

It sounds like Glen is seriously going out and looking for the best people for the job and that means running the entire team whether that's one guy or two. This is a legit search with legit people employed to do it.
Let's think about Glen another way he HAS to realize and be hearing from other people he can possibly get any coach he wants. Who doesn't want to do that?

I honestly don't think working for Glen Taylor would be considered a liability for anyone. He's proven to give people rope and generally seems like an amiable and patient man. I think some owners can be overbearing and tough to deal with; Glen doesn't seem like one of those guys. His issue over the years has been nepotism, indecisiveness, and a lack of sophistication as a professional sports owner.

I agree Monster. I think there are outside forces pulling Glen aside and saying, "dude, you do realize you have one of the most attractive jobs available in the entire NBA, don't you?"
(except without the dude part).

"and lack of sophistication as a professional sports owner." Yep that's been true a lot of Glen but now he goes out and gets what seems like a legit firm to help him find the right guy/s. Neato
