Do it.

I like this. Especially since Karl is now benching McLemore they may be looking for a 2.

Kevin Martin is worth more then a backup point guard I think.

I'd use Collison like the Clippers did several years ago (25.9 MPG in LAC), meaning that I think of him as more than just a backup point guard. He's shown that he's fully capable of playing with another point guard, as he's done with Chris Paul and even this year with Rajon Rondo, though it's a small sample size in Sacramento.

Collison's bounced around the league quite a bit (five teams in seven years), but it's not because he isn't talented or productive. He's good at a lot of things; he's just not great at any of them, necessarily. I mean, the guy averaged 16/6/3 with good efficiency last year as a starter through 45 games and is versatile in the roles he's willing to play (starter, spot-starter, sixth man, combo guard). He's also a good defender and solid three-point shooter (37.6% in 2013, 37.3% in 2014, 42.1% in 2015 so far).

We're often discussing how the Wolves desperately need another ball-handler next to Rubio, and while this isn't a long-term solution, it is a pretty good one right now that also opens up the backup SG role for LaVine to grow in a position better-suited for him.

And from the Kings perspective, they would be left with one PG (I am not counting Seth Curry). But I'm sure Rondo can handle it!

I think even Wolves second unit looked better in Chicago game when Martin wasn't playing. There was more ball movement and their shot selection looked better.

Miller's 39-years old and while he is absolutely an upgrade at running the offense over LaVine, he's not very good compared to other second-unit point guards, and he's god-awful defensively. He probably doesn't have much, if anything, left in the tank as Wolfson's reported.

Jones is a 19-year old rookie who would be better used in the D-League so he can gain more experience and work on his defense. He's not ready to play right now, especially if we're trying to be competitive this year.

Why do the Wolves need a big? They have Towns, Bjelica, Dieng, Garnett and Payne (sparkplug) right now. Pekovic could return in December or January. I think adding another ball-handler would be way more beneficial than another big.

George Karl's talked about using Marco Belinelli at point guard, and he got some time there Saturday in which he did well. All they need is 10-15 minutes from him (and/or Curry) controlling the offense while bumping Rondo's playing time up a little. Meanwhile, the Kings just benched Ben McLemore for his poor play and replaced him with James Anderson (who?) in the starting lineup. Me thinks they could use a Kevin Martin.

Because KG can only play limited minutes, and we still haven't reached the point where he's going to sit games. Also doubtful that he's going to last the season. The same goes for Pek. He shouldn't be relied on to do anything, he's just a bonus. Payne sucks, and Dieng sucks, and Belly is a rookie who is still adjusting. So you basically have either injury prone players, or players that aren't very good, any Towns.

Wolves have two ball handlers on their bench already that they aren't using. A Miller/Jones- Lavine backcourt off the bench would be fine by me. Combined they should be enough ball handling in the backcourt.

Your also going to need Martin's scoring, because this team is going to go though a lot of droughts.

I never really know if it's a good idea to look at the Kings perspective on deals because it seems like no matter who is running things over they are unpredictable. With that said Rondo is on a 1 year deal and Martin can opt out after this year. That could Leave Sac town with next to nothing in the back court of Ben M. Sucks and those guys leave. They would have a ton of money to spend and starting spots to offer so that's something to consider. If Tondo doesn't work out this year they would probably like to have Collison to fall back on.

Collison is a nice player and Cam outlined why a team and the specifically the Wolves would want him. Having said that he solves more problems than Martin does but he does create other issues because he still takes up playing time. With Collison looking healthy and if the Wolves were competitive when this deal was theoretically being discussed in a few weeks...it's a deal I would have a lot of interest in.
