Some quick observations:

- That starting lineup is good. If they stay together, watch out.
- How long before KAT is the best player in the world? 1 year, 2 years, 5 years? I'm serious.
- I told you after the Bulls game that it would be easier to finish the next time. I was right. It's all about the process. I know great coaches like me and Saban always say that, but it's true
- Zach is a two, and a good one. So we really need another point guard to stem the tide when Ricky is out.
- Great way to go into the break, makes me eager to see what we can do in the 2nd half.

Well, that escalated quickly!

Cool, Im with you that towns will be the best player in the league in a few years. The kid has no weakness at all. Can do it all.

Wiggins was clutch. He and towns are a great pair. Their skills compliment each other and both are 2 way players.

Lavine helps a whole lot just by being out there with the starters. He didnt go off tonight but just being in the game makes things a whole lot easier for the other 4.

Rubio was fantastic tonight. If he can just knock down 3 ball like he did tonight consistently then we wont be discussing how much pork chop are we at.

Dieng solid all around game. Play and start these 5 the rest of the season and we will see real growth and improvement!

Karl-Anthony Towns: 17.1 PPG (54.3% FG, 37.5% 3P, 85.2% FT), 10.1 RPG, 1.8 BPG in 30.1 MPG / 30 double-doubles.

Should have been on the All-Star roster. Should be All-NBA at the end of the year. Should be a UNANIMOUS Rookie of the Year winner.

worldK wrote:Towns with a monster game! Wiggins was clutch in the 4th. Rubio make shots and was all over the floor. Lavine makes things easier for rubio, wiggins and towns by being a threat to score, handle the ball, shoot the long ball and score on transition. Dieng continue with his solid all around play. I want more of these five together!

I'm sure all of us would have asked to see this type of combination (or Shabazz at 3 and Wig at 2, or perhaps Bjelica at 4 instead of Dieng) right from the start of the year. If this year is another year of development, it's tough to see why we haven't played that group of core pieces together more.

...but the fact is in these last three wins - which all came down to the last 5 minutes - Rubio has been in the game and we won whether he shot it well or not. Tonight he happened to shoot it well, but it was still all about Wiggins and KAT in the final minutes. And that's how it should be. It's amazing how the concerns about Rubio melt away when the two future stars of the team play like stars.

Q, dont tbe too defensive. Rubio has been in the last 5 mins of games we have lost as well all season aside from blowouts.

Fact is, rubio making shots make things easier for the rest of the team. I didnt mention it to slight rubio, I mentioned it because he made shots tonight and was fantastic.

That was a fun game to watch. Even when down 18, the Pups weren't giving up. The growth in these guys is extremely visible. Hope they have a great break and come back strong.

Some fun facts on the night:

- That was win #17 on the season for us. We can officially say that we were better this year than last year. Yay I guess?

- KAT broke the Wolves rookie double-double record tonight. He also had a season high 35 points. Stud.

- The Raptors had won 14 out 15 games coming into tonight. Seriously, that was a white-hot team that we just beat.

- That was tied for the 13th largest comeback in franchise history believe it or not. We were 18 points down at one point.

- Gorgui is averaging 16 pts, 11.5 Rebs, and 6 assts per game over the last 3 games. I still get pissed at his interior defense, but that is some solid work right there.

Not being defensive. My point is whether his shot was going in or not didn't really impact any of these games in the final minutes since he's not really taking many shots during the last few minutes. Everything is designed around Wiggins, KAT, and LaVine - in that order. And when those guys are playing well, the "Rubio hurts us in close games" narrative sort of melts away.

But yeah, when his shot is going down, he's a top 5 PG. When it's not, which is most of the time, he's still a very solid starting PG that sets the table for everyone else.
