We can agree to disagree here.
I just don't see the vast difference in value from Jrue Holiday and Ricky Rubio, which is what I keep basing my idea around.

And I'm saying that the perfect trade partner and scenario would be difficult to find. It's conceivable. I "don't think" it would happen... maybe even because of that Holiday trade.

Please explain the bold section. Why would the Holiday trade deter teams from making a similar deal?
After NO acquired Holiday, they were a playoff team in the tough West just two years after making that trade.
It's literally the same situation that could happen, except the "perfect trade partner" is one that already has playoff talent (SAC/IND/MIA). They just need a maestro to make it all come together.

I think Sacramento is clearly a great place Ricky could go for a top 8 pick. He would fit great running up and down the court in Karl's system setting guys up. He's a huge upgrade over their existing PG. I would want more than just 8 for Ricky, but it wouldn't have to be a lot. Just enough to cover the known commodity over 8th pick in a 5 man draft gap.

Thanks LST. 64% chance of getting higher then 4th. That doesn't seem like enough to me, but oh well.
If we drafted Mudiay at 4 and could trade Rubio for the 8th pick I would do it. I would probably got Frank the Tank. I really think his game will work well in the NBA at PF.

Are you saying you'd take Frank over WCS?

Was that because they landed Holiday... or because of the vast improvement of Anthony Davis as he gets closer to being the best player in the game?
Holiday missed 42 games. The Pelicans were 18 - 19 with Holiday starting. When he was out, they sort of went with some hybrid setup with Evans playing the de facto PG and they went 27 - 18.
Partly because of Holiday's injuries, I've read stories about the 76ers coup with that trade. I can't recall any opposing reports yet.
Other factors:
Holiday seemed to take a mini-leap in Year 3 right before the trade... improving his ppg and apg by about 4. (Rubio has largely remained stagnant in his development.) And he was resigned for less than Rubio is set to make. And he seemed healthy.
Again... not saying Rubio doesn't have value for somebody out there... but I am saying a lot of teams wouldn't even consider swapping out the #8 pick for him. I guess it just takes that one team though...

Yes I would. No question.
Re: Who do you pick at #4?
To go back to what I've been saying, Flip needs to do what it takes in order to land Towns or at least Okafor even if we don't get a top 2 pick. If they are not obtainable and no other trade is worth while then I'd go with Winslow.
