Agreed. Just no fun watching them play anymore and they don't seem to be having any fun as well.

They are playing like they know its going to be a long season and can't wait to get it over with.

Not saying he is playing good but he won't play good with this offense, sam plays him in iso and teams load up on him. He is playing 1 on 3 because that is how the offense is designed

Exactly right, geek!! It's such a treat to watch Sam work his magic during a timeout. He stands alone on the court, not talking with any of his assistants while the opposing head coach strand and confers with his assistants. Sam continues to stand by himself, slowly drawing, erasing then redrawing on his board after the opposing coach has already gone to the bench to talk with his players.

Sam finally slowly struts to the bench to unveil his white board masterpiece to his players. The officials then come over to the Wolves bench to tell him time is up and that he needs to get his players back in the floor.

But it's all worth it because coming out of the timeout the team executes a beautifully designed 1 on 3 iso play for Wiggins. Brilliant!!!

You need to start bringing FIRE MITCHELL sign with you to games. Next season ticket holders meeting tell them they won't see you back if Smitch keeps coaching. Heck, I"m not watching next season if somehow Smitch remain HC.
This sorry ass franchise needs a kick up its arse, I hope Taylor sells soon, I can't stand this loser.

I don't want my quotes to be misinterpreted (not in anyway did you do that lip) wiggins is not playing good but we are putting him in a terrible spot to succeed. Wiggins touches the ball in two main spots, the top of the arc in iso situations coming up from two down screens from kg and towns. Now wiggins should be able to score in these situations but look at the spacing the wolves have, rubio guy is sagged off because no threat to score, prince guy is pretty much in the paint because he is set up inside the corner 3 (maybe the thing that pisses me off the most because prince has been a decent corner 3 shooter in his career). Then Towns and kg player are near the the paint because of the down screen. So the paint is congested with a ton of bodies that wiggins has to go through, couple that with the fact wiggins has poor handles and a streaky jump shot he is set up to fail.

Now the other spot where he gets touches is on the block, a spot he was super successful last year but he is struggling this year because teams are loading up on him and the spot where the wolves could take advantage is the opposite corner but it is prince lineup for a long 2. There is never a cutter to help him out. The offensive sets him up to fail. I'm serious when is the last time wiggins has had the opportunity to catch and shoot.

The only players that fit this style of offense is rubio, who in my opinion can fit any style of offense besides the offense Spain national team runs (we should be up and down more though with Ricky). And the other person is towns who is a good elbow jump (should extend to the 3pt arc) shooter and can take his man off the dribble but he should get more post touches another reason I am Happy pek is back because he can get you a bucket and stop the bleeding.

Last example, look at dieng who has had a pretty good year but our offense screws him for turnovers. Most of his turnovers are when he is a ball stopper, but when he gets the ball he has no other option, there is no extra pass option so he is forced to stand there with the ball and wait for someone to come over to him or try and make something happen and he is not skilled enough to do that constantly.

I just think the offense we run is so iso oriented or one pick and mid range pop oriented that the players are set up to fail

Last night as the Wolves tried to stay in a close game and struggle through shooting woes with a horrific final 18 minutes...

The Wolves threw the ball back out to Ricky Rubio at least 3x behind the arc late in that game with no defender within 10 feet of him. He turned down all three shots.

He might be the only PG in the league who's doing that in those situations. Guys... that's a problem. NBA players have to make shots when the defender is 10 feet away and daring you to shoot. The Spurs got away with it with Avery Johnson... but that was about 20 years ago. The game has changed.

One of the team's best (most important) players has to be more of a factor at the end of games... he can't be a liability in those situations.

[Note: Not trying to open up another "rip Ricky" thread. I dig the guy. But seeing that was alarming. The Wolves also had Garnett (non shooter), Prince (non shooter), Towns and Wiggins (struggling mightily with immediate double teams). Yet Rubio was still passing up those wide open shots.]
