I can see/know why you see the Payne and Thad trades as head scratchers. On the other hand, I can't understand the discontent of the Brewer and Williams trades. For both of those I see Flip's hands were tied after being asked to be moved by the players, and I personally liked both of those trades for our team. Freed cap space for our team in the future by removing Brewer, and I believe Neal fits much better here than Williams. I just hope we can resign him for 2 years going forward.

This move does nothing to get me excited, nor does it bother me. I never saw enough of GR3 in the pros to be able to decide if he could play. Flip obviously saw enough of him in practice over 3/4 of this year to decide he just doesn't have it. I trust that. Now we'll see if Hamilton can be a serviceable body. It seems he can shoot out to the 3 point, though the sample size is much too small to decide if he is effective at that.

If it was my choice, I would have cut Robbie and held onto GR3 for at least another year. Unfortunately, my choice doesn't matter.

Well as most of you know I am a GR3 fan but he didn't seem like he was doing anything for the Wolves so I suppose it was time to move on. Of course you never know the Wolves could bring him back at some point like they did with Brown. At this point there really isn't a spot for GR3 anywhere in the nearish future the wing spots are pretty crowded especially at SF where he is probably best fit.

Isn't it obvious already that we won with the Young/KG trade?
Williams for Neal is looking solid for now too.
Payne is promising so we'll have to wait and see. The only thing that sucks is there's less trade flexibility.

Thad is shooting close to 60% since he's been traded

Mo is averaging 21 a game with the Hornets so far

Payne is barely shooting 30% from the field

What the hell are you talking about?

Ohhh I don't know... Lets see....

Thad had no future on the team. VS KG who has future on the team beyond this year & ability to make those around him better.

Mo likely had no future on the team. VS Neal who may be able to fill a niche if they were able to get him back otherwise it was just Mo for a 2nd. Either way they were helping out Mo too.

Payne has barely played in the NBA and it's too early to judge. That's why I said "promising". He has the physical tools and has good character.

There's about a thousand of those guys in the D-League / overseas that wouldn't have cost a first rounder to get. And some are probably younger.

Just saying.

Seriously Payne is a bust. Other then being tall and athletic he doesn't seem to have a single solid basketball skill. That is what my gut is telling me. Now I will put back on my homer glasses.

Yep. You know I agree here. At least we traded a 1st for him mid-season. Sigh...

Calling a player a bust after 10 games in the league is a fucking joke. He's already averaging more RPG's in less MPG's than Thad. He's up to 71% at the line which will continue to get better and having bigs who can hit free throws is very helpful at the end of games. Just like most rookies, he's playing at a hundred miles per hour and he needs to slow the game down mentally. Once that happens he'll settle down and his numbers will get better. Being 24 doesn't change the fact that he is a rookie 10 games into his career.

It's impossible to be a bust 10 games into your career
