Not to be "that guy," but Rubio and Wiggins played 42 minutes each tonight. I know some of you don't care about that, but there is literally NO REASON to burn their tires like this in meaningless games. None.

This game was about Marc Gasol imposing his will on us, Offensively, he did whatever he wanted to, whenever he wanted to. Defensively he clogged up the paint and made it hard for anyone to score inside.

This is where we need KG to rub off on the bigs the most.

Not sure rub off will be enough. Do Dieng and Payne have the talent? The IQ? That remains to be seen.

I get the concern about wearing out some of the guys. But I actually think learning on the fly is more important right now for Wiggins to reach his true potential. A close game vs. a very good defensive team on pace for 55+ wins in a charged environment? Matching up vs. a savvy veteran in an odd matchup?
I think the lesson he learned about battling strong in the post... and NOT settling for a step-back 22 footer when trying to take advantage of the slower, lumbering PF on the other end should be invaluable going forward.
Every player is different. There is no magical threshold number of minutes when a player's wheels fall off. Saunders and his team know more than we do. Besides, the minutes aren't unprecedented. Wiggins is playing about as many minutes as Durant did in his rookie lameduck season in Seattle... and 5 minutes less per game than James in Cleveland.

I dont know how many picked up on it, but it should come as no surprise. Flip had been playing Pek big minutes earlier in the week in games, and then Pek missed the warmup on Friday due to a soreness in his ankle. Well it was obvious Friday and Saturday night that Pek had no lift at all, and was noticeably limping up and down the court. I am sure we will hear today or tomorrow that Pek will be back on the shelf.
I am not sure if it is smoke screen by Flip, or if he really believes his own BS, but Flip tried to convince the media about a month back that the Mayo Clinic had come up with a plan based on some evidence that they found, and could manage Pek's anke going forward. Hopefully this will convince Flip that Pek is a part time player at best going forward.

Wish we still had our amnesty so we could cut Pek.
