I hear what you're saying monster, but I firmly believe the vet aspect is overplayed when you're in full rebuild. I think great coaches are the ones that can make a player better and superstar players can make it easier on substandard players making them look better than they really are, but unfortunately we have neither at this point. Babysitter veta aren't the answer, and certainly far past their prime vets aren't the answer when they are stealing playing time from young guys who we need to develop into a good player. You add young talent early In a full build until you find at least two top talents and then you start adding vets, not the other way around.

I think with this team the vet angle is a little overplayed because of the 3 guys we added but I do think it's plenty worthwhile. Don't we already theoretically have the top young talent? It's also quite likely we will be adding another draft pick this year.

I also think the idea that starting and playing 30mpg is basically the only way to develop is not true. I thin guys can develop playing off the bench in practices etc. I am not suggesting everything is all rosy and I think this franchise has it all figured out and I don't have complete faith in Sam for sure but I see the plan having a lot of merit as it is going right now. I think some people have fallen for the hype of Lavine before he really proved himself. I guess we can include Sam in that group not just fans. Lol like I have said a few times let's see this play out and see where it goes. It's hard not to be incredibly frustrated though because it never feels like we are really on the way something always happens to keep the belief alive whether and injury to a key player or ugh I don't want to name all that crap. This time feels a little different to me because the talent seems more legit and we have some assets (young players) to make a move if something were to come available that made a lot of sense.
