Hicks - I just want to throw out the fact that Klay Thompson is simply a younger K-Mart at best. He is a statistical 1-trick-pony if I ever saw one. Great shooter - check. But he is at the VERY BOTTOM for SG in virtually every other category (rebounding, steals, assists, FT attempts).

That is interesting. If all he is is a younger KMART, why is everybody so hot and wet for him?

Important to remember: Klay is a RFA after this upcoming season, so Wolves would be able to retain him. HOWEVER, as has been reported, he wants to get a max deal, which means going into the 2015-2016 season, your "big 3" is basically Rubio, Thompson, and Pek.

Is that a team that can contend in the West? Highly, highly doubtful. Also, just for a friendly reminder, David Lee is due THIRTY MILLION DOLLARS over the next two seasons.

It is refreshing to see the deals getting better and better as we approach the draft, but my stance (like many others) is that we NEED Cleveland to panic and offer the #1 overall. That is the only trade in the entire league that allows us to rebuild the proper, correct way.

I think you're selling Klay short on defense. You may not think he's a max player but he's not the minus defender Martin is.

I am not saying he is a bad player, as I would love to have his shooting, but he is not a franchise guy, or anything even close. Klay is a great role player on a current team that fits to his strengths. He can simply sit outside and snipe all game. He is not equipped to handle the duties of a lead scorer, IMO.

Let's also add in the fact that Barnes was simply one of the worst players in the NBA last season. When he came out in the draft a couple years back, people were concerned about his lack-luster college play, and it has turned out to be a preview to what he has to offer the NBA...very little.

I don't know, this deal doesn't look that great to me. I don't know, I would still be calling Houston about a re-signed Parsons, T. Jones and Asik deal. That seems like a heck of a lot more value than this GS deal.

One area that Thompson is far superior is defense. I can't say I have a first hand scouting report on his defense but I have heard people refer to him as an elite defensive SG. I've also heard he's often matched up against the opposing teams top scorer which is saying something with Iggy on the team.

I'd agree he's not a lead scorer but what deal would bring us a lead scorer? Even if we got the first pick, I don't necessarily see a lead scorer, Parker would be the closest but I see him as a strong 2nd option who needs a bit of improving to be a first option.

Could we trade Pek and #13 to either 76ers for #3 and #10? or Orlando for #4 and #12? I wouldnt want to trade him, but his injury history is tough. He is a legit Center, but if we are in a mini rebuild, why not?

If Cleveland is a legit opportunity for a Love trade, could we trade Love, Martin or Barea (whatever works) for #1, Waiters, Thompson, etc etc to make it work?

Talk about rebuild! #1, #3, #10 or #1, #4, #12....walking with Wiggins, Embiid (hope foot heals) and Stauskas/Harris/Payne would be amazing to add to Rubio, Muhammed and Dieng

No way in hell ORL or PHI does that. Probably wouldn't trade Pek straight up for #10 or #12

I think ur overvaluing Pek quite a bit. For a big strong guy hes a bit of a finesse player who doesnt block shots and plays 65 games a year. Whos giving up a top 3 pick for that.
Id consider trading him for a 10-15pick straight up.

Kevin Martin will be a year older as will Lee. Do we really expect those guys to maintain their current level of play? If 27-28 is considered prime years where does that put those two guys? Lees a good player but he shouldnt be consider a vital piece in a trade involving a star player. Imo

Okay I realize all players will be a year older, but the point remains.

Far superior to Martin could honestly still be terrible. I don't know, I have seen GS enough to know that Klay is a moderate defender at best. Would be interested in reading where he is guarding best player over Iggy. I don't see it. And someone else adds a point I ommitted in that Klay will demand a max deal after this next season. With his skillset, he simply isn't worth anywhere near this amount. That deal would simply be devestating to a team without another true star player to prop him up. I honestly don't think he will get a max deal, but his early stage comments about being traded show that we would probably have to max him out to even have a chance. Not a good position to be in again next year.

No. 1, Waiters and Thompson is where I'm at.

Cam -- I'm not banking on it, but I'm hoping for it. To me, that would be the ideal realistic deal for Love. Keeping my fingers crossed.
