Early word is it is looking like Prince is back in the starting lineup. Wolfson tweeted that was the feeling he was getting.

Correction: The tweet said he was told not to be surprised to see Prince in the starting lineup.

I'd be just as Happy with:
Rubio
Zach
Wiggins
KG
Kat

My main reason for the first choice is that I think Martin and Bazz are a horrible combination for the 2nd unit. Once Martin is traded Move Zach into a starters role. Zach is already getting 25 mins a game, Bazz needs more run.

+1

I would like to see Bazz start and think it would benefit Wiggins most with Bazz likely drawing the bigger defender away from him. I remember the games that those two started together last season and they played very well together.

At this stage it wouldn't hurt to try it right?

Just as i thought, Prince back in and his fave Dieng getting a starting spot.

The only way Mitchell will start Lavine is if there's some rash of injuries. Even then i think he would be too stupid to put him there. How does a guy go from being "the starting shooting guard" to being picked over guys like Prince and Kmart in the starting lineup?

We saw a very small window of Sam's thinking when Arron Afflolo took Zach into the post and scored twice late in the game. He can be easily bullied by bigger starting 2's, as can Wiggins by bigger starting 3's.

That being said, he's certainly played better than Martin this year and at this point I'm not sure if there is anything to lose.

I'd rather get beat by AA post moves than give up a billion 3 pointers. Zach stopped AA once and got hosed on the one that went baseline when AA just pushed him to the ground to get open. If we have a good help defender behind him we can stop that kind of play more than it goes in. Sometimes defense is about giving the defense one thing to stop them from taking advantage of a more high percentage play like wide open 3's due to good ball movement. We can keep up if we give up 2's.

Geez some of you are too harsh on Sam Mitchel. He's FAR from terrible. Sure he has his faults.. sticks to lineups too long, questionable late game play calling (I really really liked the play they drew up for Zach when he hit that late 3 tonight), etc and he's not the guy I want to see long term, but we could certainly do worse.

It seems like some expect this team to just snap their fingers and hire an elite, but the problem is they are hard to find. Lets be a bit more realistic here. I think he's an okay bridge to the next coach as long as he keeps improving as does the team. Lets also give him credit for realizing something isn't working and making a change. It won't always end up being the right move, but at least he's not stuck on his decisions.

Wiggins hasn't had any issues guarding guys at the 3. Prince is slow and useless offensively, why Sam insist on having two useless guys on the offensive side of the ball as starters is beyond me.

There's no way Lavine shouldn't be starting already.

Yes Grey some of us are a bit too critical of Sam at times, me being one. I feel the problem isn't just Mitchell but the guys that sit next to Him on the bench - Sid Lowe, Saunders Jr and Adelman Jr. We need guys with proven track records in those roles, not sons of coaches and underachievers like Lowe. No doubt the ship got rocked by Flips death, but we need change.

In a perfect world we should hire a young coach with a decent pedigree and ability to develop talent (Scott Brooks / Dave Joerger mold), shift Sam back to the assistants chair and replace the 3 stooges with adequate assistants with proven experience.

I'm sick of this franchise being the gentlemans club.
