I think this is logical, so even though we don't know, it makes the most sense to analyze potential Boston deals. I'm not that interested in Sullinger, but I would take Olynyk and some good picks in exchange for Love. Olynyk is a 7 footer with excellent ballhandling skills, and best suited for the PF position. I think we could drop him into the starting PF role, and he would provide a mini version of what Love provided, because he can shoot the three, score inside, distribute and rebound. Boston brought him along slowly as a rookie, but he put up excellent stats when he finally started getting 25+ minutes in April. 16.6 PPG, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists. And he did it efficiently, shooting 55 % overall, 43% on threes, and 80% from the line. Those are good rookie stats, and he should be able to build on that in coming years.
What do you guys think of Olynyk (and whatever expirings needed to make it work) plus picks? I would want Boston's 7th pick this year, Philly's first rounder next year, and New Jerseys in 2016 as a minimum. Of course, I would ask for more, but I'm trying to keep it realistic. Keep in mind we would also now have cap space to be a player in free agency.
Would you do it? Would Boston, assuming Love agrees to extend with them?

All sites on the east coast - that's good
Well Love is a west coast guy so he has probably seen all that stuff. I hear later in the summer he is gonna hook up with Mike Miller to get a tour of the Corn Palace while getting up a few shots, then hit up Wall Drug and Mount Rushmore.

You may be on to something, monster...looks Kevin has always wanted to play for the Skyforce. He could dominate the D League!

No. 6, No. 17, 2015 LAC 1st, 2016 BRK 1st along with Olynyk, Bass and Bogans for Love and Budinger. Could give Martin instead, but I prefer trying to give away Bud's contract instead.
That Sixers 1st rounder next year is top-14 protected and I don't see Philly being out of the lottery next year. Pick then turns into two 2nd rounders.
Ainge has already said he'd be open to trading for a superstar even without a guarantee of re-signing them, though I think Love would ink a new contract with them. I believe they'd be all for a deal like this.

In a deal with Boston, we need a bevy of 1st round picks, including both theirs this year and 2 more next year.

I would trade Love for Olynyk, filler (to make it work), their two picks this year, and the NJ and Clips pick (not interested in the Philly pick...thx for the clarification, Cam).
I don't think Ainge gives us that much...I still do it without the Clips pick.
But if he does, does Love see a Celtics team built around Rondo, Green and him (and no draft picks) attractive enough to keep his interest?

Boston then tries to get as much cap space as possible to go after a Melo or someone else with star power. Once you get two superstars, it's all about moving all the clutter pieces (Wallace, Green, Bradley) out and gaining more space to sign the third star. I'd expect Ainge to try and pull off another Big Three.

Trade
Love Budinger for Sullinger Bass Bogans 6, 17, '16 '17 BKN Picks
If we trade Love I want to get rid of as many contracts holding us down in the future so...
Trade
Martin Pek Jason Richardson (expiring) to NO
Anderson Gordon to PHI
Thad Young 17 to SAC
8 10 Jason Terry (expiring) to MN
We then have 6, 8, 10, 13
We could package those to move up or
6 Randle/Smart
8 Gordon/Vonleh
10 Stauskas/McDermott
13 Lavine
Rubio Lavine
Smart Lavine
McDermott Brewer Bazz
Bass Vonleh
Dieng Sullinger
Or
Rubio Lavine
Stauskas Lavine
Gordon Brewer Bazz
Randle Bass
Dieng Sullinger

Kevin Love, Chase Budinger, 44th and 53rd picks to BOS for Kelly Olynyk, Jeff Green, Avery Bradley, 6th, 17th, BKN 2016 + 2018 1st,
For me Olynyk is the only appealing player on BOS roster, but Bradley (S & T) and Green would be ok to match salaries. Good two way players. Rubio and Bradley would make a great defensive / play making backcourt and Green gives us a good wing with size.
Draft: Vonleh @ 6, Harris or Stauskas @ 13, Napier, Ennis or LeVine @ 17 and Thianis Antekounmpo at 40 (D League).
Rubio / Napier / Shved
Martin / Bradley / Harris
Green / Brewer / Muhammad
Olynyk / Vonleh / LMAM
Pekovic / Dieng / Turiaf

I don't want Green, Bradley... Nor would Boston give them to us for two 2nd round picks. They impede the growth of all the young prospects we're likely to have. I like Bradley, but not enough to pay him on a new deal when we're not a player away and the same goes for Green.
