this isn't a losing culture. Maybe the Wolves are just losers being themselves.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the sky is not falling. Repeat, the sky is not falling... you're standing on it.

Why is this year so much more disappointing for u guys? We lost our best player for a rookie. After last year's losing season u found reasons to have hope Going forward not knowing that Wiggins would be part of the team. Shouldn't we be more positive moving forward knowing we have Wiggins as our future than Love?

Argh, trying to find something positive and coming up empty.....
- Anyone who thought Young was a liability on defense should now apologize. The Payne-Hamilton-Dieng trio may have just put together the worst interior defensive display in franchise history.
- Hamilton demonstrated once again that he is a smart, serviceable player. Unfortunately he doesn't have the physicality to battle it out in the paint. He's probably best suited to play the 4. That means Pekovic is our only true Center on the roster, as no one else is really strong enough. Scary.
- Wiggins once again sleepwalked through this one. I want the Wiggins from January back again.
- What an interesting contrast watching Zach vs. Lowbrow at the point. One looks like a natural shooting guard who should never be allowed to run a team and the other looks like a natural point guard who should never be allowed to shoot. Unfortunately Flip only recognizes one of those facts (or he's tanking - he must be tanking).
- Geez Budinger, where the hell was this earlier in the year?! Timely basket cuts, confident shots, decisive rebounds. Good to see you have some life left in you!
- When does KG's mentoring kick in again on defense? Can those of you who so strongly advocated for his Yoda-like defensive mentoring please let us know when we can start seeing some results? Anyone? Anyone? Tim?

KG's "mentorship" and defensive prowess [s]on the court[/s] from the bench. Oh, and because nothing makes Flip happier than familiar faces (Garnett, Newton, Mitchell, Lowe, Saunders Jr. and even Brewer to an extent).

Camden wrote:You guys say that these games don't have significant meaning, but then try to say we acquired KG at the deadline to get his great mentoring and intensity on the floor for the young guys the rest of the year. Which is it? One of those two is false so stop playing both cards. "Culture change", "mentoring", "defensive presence". Let's add a new one: "top cheerleader".
The young guys are getting major burn right now and KG is not on the court. You can't directly impact development if you're wearing warmups on the bench. Sorry to break it to you.
(PS: I hope Thad scores 30 tonight.)
I was personally talking about the win column. IE: fighting for a playoff spot. When teams are out of the race and guys have minor injuries they tend to sit them way more often. It's not worth risking further injury, we're trying to get the best pick possible, etc. These guys wouldn't all be sitting if we were fighting for the 8th spot.

I am still fine with trading Thad and I was fine trading him for KG, but if he tells you he is opting out at the end of the season why trade expiring contract for expiring contract. Like I know money wouldn't match but we could of gotten Payne for Thad and kept that first round pick. But we are the cheapest franchise ever and we like selling draft picks and made the trade to have 2 sell out crowds. (Notice the crowd was pretty damn empty tonight)

Flip made an interesting comment after the game saying 2 of our bigs have basically had like 2 practices with the team. We can't practice b/c we only have 8 guys and guys are so tired your trying to get them some rest time. So they're not totally familiar with the rotations and stuff yet. I assume he's talking about Payne and Hamilton.
If they aren't even practicing then idk how there can be much teaching/mentoring outside of games. That certainly would explain some of the stagnation of late. I'd still expect to see some slow progress during games. I didn't expect a ton of change the rest of the season after acquiring KG, but after this summer and training camp I'd expect to see growth in the team.
Rookie wall for Wiggins maybe? I mean he's been getting a TON of run for a rookie and he's never played anywhere near this amount of games or minutes. We might be seeing the 35-40 min runs catching up to him.
For Lavine it's pretty clear it's all about teaching and trial by fire. They want Lavine to learn to be a combo guard. I still want to see more Rubio & Lavine like Flip mentioned just before Rubio came back. I'm fine with Lavine playing a good chunk at the point, but damn it give him run WITH Rubio.
Hey maybe Bud will have a little trade value this summer after all?
