Kids been playing huge minutes, I'm sure he exhausted. Not really making an excuse, just reality.
Just wish he would have looked around tonight and saw that he needed to step up and be the man. He didn't do that.
Yeah I'm kinda surprised he didn't have that fire tonight against one of the best challenges on the wing that he will find in the NBA. Lenard is a fucking beast. Wiggins usually steps up against those challenges.

They've quit and so should we.

I want to know what others think - how much of this slop does Flip own? Is he still on his honeymoon? defense, effort, that's on him, right? yeah I know...we're so young

Yeah, because bigs that shoot under 37% don't grow on trees and we might have sold our first rounder anyway. Atlanta is a terrible organization that can't evaluate talent so Flip stole this future Hall of Famer for peanuts.
Payne shot terribly his first six games with us, but in all fairness they were his first significant NBA minutes, and how many rookies don't struggle out of the chute...it's just a different game than college. But he is learning the NBA game, and is shooting 46% in his 7 games this month. Payne is not the problem with this club right now.

I put a lot of it on Flip. After his stints in Det and D.C. where his clubs quit on him I'm starting to think that's what is going on here.

I am more impressed with Kawhi every time I see him. There just isn't anyone his equal defensively in the NBA. That's one of the reasons Stanley Johnson is still high on my board. Both Johnson and Leonard were SoCal high school legends, and led their teams to impressive records (state championships in Johnson's case) with defense and close-in shooting...neither was considered a great shooter in high school or college (although Stanley is clearly the better shooter). Johnson was compared to Leonard when he was in high school, and the consensus was they were similar players, but Kawhi was Stanley light...Johnson was just that much more dominant. I still think Stanley could be a difference maker in the NBA, just like Leonard has been.

I agree. Lets not forget the club with Spree and Cassell, and oh yeah, KG, that quit on him here. This team looks way beyond young and tired. They look dispirited and discouraged.

This is the umpteenth season in a row I've watched this team roll over and give up in the final month or so. We must all be masochists.
- Even though I think Flip is blatantly pulling a tank job, I actually thought the players gave a halfway decent effort. They were simply out-skilled, out-smarted, and out-coached.
- How is it that everyone on the Spurs can shoot? Damn, they know how to churn out shooters, something that has evaded our franchise for years. Danny Green, Patty Mills, and Kawhi Leonard weren't even close to being this good at shooting in college. It's amazing.
- Hamilton once again demonstrated that he's a smart, solid player. But he's just not built to compete in the top of a rotation in the Western Conference. I like him as a 4th or 5th big though. I have to give credit to Flip on this one. Hummel and Hamilton are a couple of decent, cheap end-of-bench types. Hope to see them on the squad next year.
- Nice to see LoBrow run the point. Why he doesn't get more burn at PG with LaVine off the ball is baffling. He ran a beautiful pick and roll play with Hamilton where he threw a perfectly timed pass to him. I like his defensive intensity as well. He's a big, strong PG.
- Wiggins with another "meh" outing. I still don't think he runs the floor hard enough. I've seen more fast break buckets by Hamilton lately than Wiggins. Andrew is going to be a very good player, but he'll never be truly great if he doesn't hustle and play harder.
- KG needs to retire and become a team consultant, assistant coach, or player development specialist - whatever makes sense. But it's a waste of a roster spot and salary cap for him to continue playing.

Wow, the bar has been set really low then. Give me Wiggins, Rubio and I'd trade the entire rest of the team for Gobert in a heartbeat, but I don't think Utah is that dumb. Anyway, we really need to get lucky in the draft next year and seize the top big available.

Zach Lavine = 6 assists in 42 minutes
Lorenzo Brown = 7 assists in 16 minutes.
