These trades would have to happen separately but here's what I'd offer:

Dieng, Aldrich (cap space next season), Bjelica (RFA/cap space next season) and OKC 1st

For

Irving and Tristan Thompson (ugly contract)

When any player publicly requests a trade, that team is screwed. Is that fair value for Irving? No. But it frees up money to start over once Lebron leaves after this season (which I think my be inevitable as the ship looks like it's sinking).

San Antonio doesn't have anything to offer. Miami has what? Winslow, 31 year old Dragic and Waiters?

I ultimately see him heading to NY for Melo, Ntilikina, and a first but we'll see.

Irving-Wiggins-Butler-Gibson-Towns-Teague-Thompson-Crawford is a title contender. Period.

There is no way on God's green earth the Cavs would do that trade.

Then Kyrie won't be on this team. Thibs is not trading Wiggins.

The Cavs don't really have to trade Kyrie he is under contract for 2 more years. Every other team that has dealt a star player (Kings Bulls Pacers) has gotten back more than what you have suggested here. Also TT is the 2nd best player and 2nd youngest in that deal. It's not like the Cavs are some mediocre or bad team team they are a contender even if it's for just one year. Maybe the new management in place convinces Kyrie to stick around long term. He hasn't "publicly" demanded a trade. Kobe publicly demanded a trade (including calling into a radio show and said he would never play for the Lakers again) and...retired as a Laker.

The Cavs should be patient like Flip was with Kevin Love. If so, then I don't see them trading him this summer.

Here's an interesting angle for the Wolves. I would think it's unlikely the Cavs trade Kyrie to an Eastern Conference team unless the Knicks surprisingly agree to trade Porzingis. My nightmare scenario is Kyrie going to the Spurs in exchange for Aldridge. Popp, with help from Leonard, would somehow find a way to overcome Kyrie's defensive weaknesses. The Spurs are already viewed as a likely top 5 team and that deal would end up making them even stronger.

PG defense is so overrated on this board. The Warriors have played around Steph. Cavs with Irving. Spurs with Parker. Teams have won around poor defensive PG's for years. Pop and the Spurs already have the blueprint from Parker.

Just realized that Kyrie has a player option on the 3rd year of his contract. Yet another reason why the Wolves should pass on trading Wiggins to get him. Doing that deal would clearly put us in a 2-year window with Kyrie and Butler in line at the same time for huge max contracts. Two years is a short window to go from a bottom dwelling team to a championship. And it's certainly not a good set-up for the sort of extended run like GS I'd like to see.

Wait, so Cleveland would laugh at my Wolves hypothetical offer but they would gladly take a fast aging LaMarcus Aldridge?

I'm not the one who said they'd laugh at you offer. And I don't really think the Cavs would do the deal for Aldridge. Just a hypotehetical..

Yeah, I just don't see a way to make it work for the Wolves and I'm not sure Minnesota is the best place for him to be if his goal is to have his own team and grow his brand. This is ultimately KAT and Butler's team (with Wiggins hopefully being the quietly successful third wheel). There would be far more competition for shots and the spotlight in Minnesota than perhaps even Cleveland.

Based on what Irving wants, New York seems like the PERFECT place for him to be. He can be "the man" while also having a young up and coming big man that doesn't need the ball in his hands.

Miami also works. Can Anthony and Ntilikina be enough to get Irving?
