If there's one way to guarantee Butler walks, it's to trade KAT for a rookie

Trading towns now would be beyond dumb and pointless.
If glen is willing to stick with thibs despite not liking him as lip and long alluded to. Then that means he know the PR disaster that would bring the franchise. We would lose credibility if he fire thibs now even if he really wanted to. Heck, glen might secretly want thibs to insist on trading towns so he can justify firing him now. But thibs wont do it and towns will remain a wolf and likely sign a max extentuon this offseason. We probably fire thibs after next season.
I agree with you, World. If it were me, I'd fire Thibs tomorrow. He's a toxic presence, which is what got him fired by the Bulls in spite of the team's success. Now, he's not even particularly effective as a head coach. As head of basketball operations he has a hard time seeing beyond the little group of players who surrounded him in his glory days in Chicago. Signing poor defenders like Teague and Crawford as key parts of his rotation was bizarre. His failure to sign free agents like Ilyasova, Belinelli, or even Gerald Green, who could have helped us is unacceptable. The internal fights and now alienating our best young player and the only player on this team with the potential to be a star. Glen needs to kick Thibodeau's ass out of here ASAP. Will Glen do that before next season? Probably not. As you said, he'll probably fire him after next season. As he's done in the past, Glen will have waiting too long. Now is the time to jettison Thibodeau. Then I'd shop Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson for young talent and/or first round picks.

If You or Glen were to Fire Thibs right now honestly it would have waited too long. The best coaches are already off the market. I suppose we could hire Dwayne Casey so we can all sit around and sign Kumbya with Glen's family plan back. Actually I wouldn't mind that hire depending on who the GM was that we hired.
Jon K has reported probably the biggest reason Glen isn't feeling it with Thibs is that for good and bad Glen likes the family idea of an organization and the relationships. That's not who either Thibs or Layden are. He said Glen knew what he was getting when he hired them though but those guys are lock down on info etc. Obviously their lack of personabiltt and possibly communication is a weakness of them but being a people person can have its downsides also Glen is a good example of that.
Thibs cursing at the games is another problem although I have heard he toned it down from the previous year but it's still a lot.
Anyway personally I think that even though it's not all rainbows and unicorns or whatever over there I don't think it's anywhere as bad as some people have gotten it in their head that it is. There is some serious rampant speculation going on. Meanwhile Thibs and Layden and whoever else are probably working their asses off trying to find players (mostly via the draft at this point) and ways to get better.

If Glen Taylor dislikes Thibs doesn't that prove his competency?
Jon Ks main point seems to be that Thibs swears too much for Taylor's wifes liking. Firing over this kind of idiocy would be typical wolves.

If Jon K thinks that's the biggest reason to fire Thibs, he's the idiot i always thought he was. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to fire Thibs. Pick any one.

Cool to clarify that is very far from what Jon K was saying. This info was more making the case Glen was not close to moving on from Thibs. His point was that the idea of Glen not being all in on Thibs is this other stuff not really his basketball performance. In other words Jon was really making the point it's other stuff that Glen isn't as happy about not the basketball side of things in general and He doesn't think there is any momentum to firing Thibs. He said this stuff could be a factor down the road if things don't progress when it comes to the success of the franchise but certainly not now.

There really aren't though. Style of play is the only basketball related reason to fire him and that's a pretty weak reason given the increase in wins we saw and the playoff appearance in year 2 when nobody else could do it once in the last 14 years. I don't know how you can use stats against someone who got results to backup their way of doing things. The bottom line of winning games is what matters at the end of the day and we improved by a lot of wins this year. Otherwise everything else is pretty much just because "you" don't like the guy (not talking you specifically).

It's not a reason Jon K says is a fireable offense. It is what he is reporting as the major problem Taylor has with Thibs. It shows that Taylor is the idiot (and possibly his wife) from what I can tell. I really don't see anything that Thibs has done that would warrant a firing. Like Kahns said, the only thing you can legitimately come up with is a philosophical style of play argument based on the results of this team.

Whenever I read your posts I find myself thinking "fuck yeah, I agree!". Then I realize you were probably not serious.

Can we trade Thibs for a day old plain donut? That's about all he's worth.
