Interesting that the 2 guys Sam repeatedly screamed at the last game - KAT & Zach -- had bad games tonight.

I don't know Lip. That is a real reach if you are implying their getting screamed at in the last game somehow caused them not to do well in this game.

I'll say this again, but it has to be taxing on a player when he's yanked every other night from bench role to starting to bench role and back to starting. You just can't do that to a guy, especially when he's played better in the starting lineup. Mentally, that's draining. Physically, I'd assume it's not a big deal other than having to get amped to play in the middle of the first quarter instead of from tip. Emotionally, he's very likely in a "fuck you Sam Mitchell" mode, which is never good to have that about a coach in a player's head. I wouldn't be surprised if some of that plays into why LaVine has a poor outing every now and then as long as this yanking him around thing continues.

Towns just looked like a guy that's been shouldering the load like a superstar for a month and had an off game. He'll bounce back.

I agree he's been jerked around Cam, but to me it's more about the PG/SG flip flopping from Sam that has been problematic. If Zach wants to cement his place in the starting lineup, he needs to play better defense. He is still pretty awful on that end of the floor and I can see why going with Prince from time to time makes sense to start games. Zach still played 30+ minutes.

What do ya know? Another game trying to matchup players against another team and another L. Sam needs to go.

Q - I disagree on Zach's defense. He's played well on the defensive end for a while. I think you're current assessment is unduly influenced by Zach's previous struggles defensively. And I just don't see Sam's flip-flopping on Zach's position as Zach's fault.

I have no idea whether there's a connection. Maybe it was just coincidental. But getting repeatedly berated by your head coach, even after a win, can be draining. Hard enough for these young guys to summon the energy to play late in a long NBA season without getting screamed at.

Again... we're blaming the coach for the players.

We get it. Mitchell sucks balls in many ways. But if we're going to praise players when they perform well... they can take the heat when they don't.

OR... you have to give Mitchell some credit when they play well. You can't just blame him for the bad stuff, especially when it's a reach or assumption.

As for the game... the Wolves played pretty well overall vs. a good team on the road.

In the end, the Raptors two all stars, Lowry and DeRozan, played like all stars. Lowry was TERRIBLE in the second half back in Minnesota and his team lost. Yesterday, he was very good in the 4th and they won.

[Note: Yes. Dieng deserves praise after that game. And for improving into a solid player with legit value right now.]
