This tweet has a link to audio of Milt's media availability after the deadline.
Good stuff. Thanks for posting. I wrote it earlier in the week and I'll type it again - not doing any deals is/was the best thing they could've done. Even dumping Kmart for some garbage back didn't make sense because it's better to just have the cap space vs. getting stuck with some crap contracts back. Let the next Coach/GM use that cap space in addition to the new cap limit to add a quality Free Agent that they want.
I think Milt has done alright by the Franchise as interim GM. He hasn't done anything great....but at least he hasn't screwed things up more which is all you really ask out of an interim. We have a young, affordable core. Let's add another top 10 pick, and a good Free Agent and I think we're almost there (along with coach - of course).
Not to nitpick, but he is not "interim" GM he is and has been THE GM of the Wolves under Flip. We just don't have a VP right now who oversees and has final say. I agree though, he hasn't made any bad moves which is positive.
Lets not act like this guy is some schmuck though. He worked closely with Flip and we don't really know which deals were his idea or Flips, etc. Flip just had final say.
A lot of people assume (so did I) because Milt is not a guy that is a guy that's a big spotlight guy or they know much about him it's easy to assume he is a nice guy or whatever and probably some pushover. He is a nice guy but Jon K has said a couple times on his podcasts Milt always has everything in order, is tough, a straight shooter and will not just cave in. This was early in the season he shared this information. It made me wonder how much Milt had to do with some of the deals Flip and the Wolves did especially during the Love saga when the Wolves held tough throughout.
I liked a lot of what Milt said in that media availability also. When he talks he doesn't always seem ready for prime time pausing and such but he seems like he has a clue of what he is doing and I don't think I've ever heard him say something stupid. Does he say anything wildly exciting? No but that's fine. He has a good enough resume and was here for Flip's plan that I felt pretty confident he wouldn't do anything stupid plus he may not have had the go ahead. If the story is true when the Bucks called about Rubio he basked for Middleton is say he could have made a deal if it was good for the the team. It did feel like in the media availability he seemed to put forth a more thought out and stinger vision of what he saw this team doing the rest of the season than I have heard before.
