Weren't we something like 2/14 while they were 10/15 at some point in the 4th quarter? That's why we didn't win.

OKC can absolutely lock opposing teams down when they set their mind to it. They are also starting to remind me of the Spurs in their knack for hitting on their draft picks. Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, Lamb, and Jackson are all homegrown guys picked at various tiers within the draft. Boy, it sure is easy to pick your spots with salaries when you know you can get production out of mid to late first rounders on rookie contracts.

Great point Q. I've had the same thought about the Thunder organization's drafting prowess for a while. People forget that Westbrook was not expected to go as high as #4. So that alone was a heck of a pick. Then there are the other picks you mentioned, including Jackson who had 18 points tonight. And don't forget taking Harden with the 3rd pick in the draft.

What happened to our lockdown defenders?

This is team that looks very similar to teams of the early 2000's. Good jump shooting teams that struggle to get baskets when the opponent steps up the D in the fourth quarter.

I don't know if anyone else noticed but Brewer wasn't exactly hustling in the fourth quarter. Sure he is quick to leak out on the fastbreak, but was taking his sweet time getting back on D. Doesn't our coaching staff know that Brewer can't hit a jump shot from out top? He continues to take those and miss. I almost think we should give up on the outlet passes all together. Other teams are getting back, and I think we are turning the ball over way too much for it to be effective anymore.

Did anyone else notice, when OKC went on that run at the beginning of the 4th quarter, starting when they had 78 pts, that they hit four pretty wide open 3 pointers in about 3 1/2 minutes?

the players shooting the 3s (durant hit 2, lamb, and jackson) had no one covering them. It looked very much like the Wolves didn't know who was covering who. That is disappointing enough if it happens once or twice, but it happened 4 times in 3 1/2 minutes.

if you have it recorded, go watch that span again, it is disturbing. I expected a learning curve for this team that hasn't played together much, but that span was soooo bad that it was hard to tell what any of them were thinking (except Pek, as far as I can tell he was doing what he should have been doing)

The players on the court at the time were JJ, Martin, Brewer, Luc, and Pek.

*****

I just watched it a couple more times and it looks like Luc (specifically) as well as others (JJ) didn't understand the defensive rotations.

I'd be interested in other people's thoughts on those 3 minutes.
