The do need to teach development in the NBADL. Ironically, however, if a guy goes out in the NBADL and scores 12 points playing his role to perfection then he's a failure in the eyes of many people who believe you need to dominate in the DL. The "Minnesota" Minnesotans have cast their judgement in typical fashion and there's no way this guy can bring any value to the Wolves.
It's sad because he'll have to take it elsewhere and there's no reason Shabazz couldn't develop into an above average 6th man (a skill we desperately lack).
For me I was really excited about the stats he put up. Then I saw the highlights and was thinking MEH. Maybe the plays that were not highlights were solid plays he will be able to use up here.
