At this point I'll take anything, he has been shit. Hopefully Rubio will make him look tradeable
He has been our worst player this year, I have been in the wait and see about him because I know he is not this bad, but his shot is not falling, he is missing two many shots close to the hoop, he turns the ball over at a very high rate, does not rebound at all. He makes K Love look like Gary Payton defensively
EDIT: Wiggins attacked tonight. Did his best to get to the rim, and accomplished that goal several times. Blew an easy dunk, but also had a tremendous one-handed flush off a dribble drive. That got me excited and off my couch. Also showed off his three ball and ability to get the FT line. Defensively he was tough too. Making it tough on Waiters and LeBron (was feeling it tonight from deep), but more importantly provided the best help defense of his young career, imo. He also should have had three or four assists tonight. Couple nice drives and slip passes to Gorgui. I liked that a lot as well.
Dieng also had a big night. He was the other reason why it was a two point game with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. He scored, he rebounded, he found guys with passes, he got his hands on the ball on defense via steals and blocks. This was one of those games where you wonder what his potential might be. We just need to see more of it. (Had a big dunk on Varejao early in the game)
If you looked at the box score, you'd think LaVine struggled to guard Irving, but I actually thought he played damn good man defense on him. Containing his penetration and contesting his jumpers well all night long. Kyrie's just a really skilled ball player. Better offense, in that case.
Young's not as bad as his play has shown. I read a lot of "Thad sucks" and "Thad's garbage" and I understand why it's said to a degree, but that guy needs Rubio back more than anyone. He's most effective on offense when he can play in the P&R with a guard that can turn the corner, or float around the painted area making himself available to the ball handler. Without a point guard that can attack the paint regularly, Young's forced into an 18-foot iso game. He has SOME moves in that regard, but it's not taking advantage of his strengths. And as Q has pointed out, he's stopped shooting the three ball almost completely. I hope he gets back to shooting that shot with confidence.
Dieng also played really well. If we can get effort like this from Dieng and Wiggins every night they will be very good players, especially when Rubio comes back
We got beat inside out again. Dieng did play good but we are getting nothing from the 4 spot. I cant believe this is a contract year for thad. We need bigs. Wiggins is awesome.
It feels like we have a few pieces solid pieces going foward
Rubio (Future PG)
Wiggins (Future Superstar)
Shabazz (Future 6th man)
Lavine (Hopefully SG, but at first guard of the bench)
Dieng (Borderline Starting Center)

I don't see why bazz and wiggins can't eventually start together. Bazz improves every game.
