We know Wiggins is going to play and likely start, but what about Lavine? I could actually care less if we deal Martin, Bud, JJ and Pek. Maybe we could get rid of a lot of bodies in this deal to open up some time for the young guys.

I'm in agreement with some of you that Flip's aggressiveness is impressive. He seems to know what he wants and how to get it. I like what Q said about the team developing an identity. Athletic and great defensively is a good building block for a contender. Maybe Bledsoe can also become the 3 point shooter we need in the starting lineup.

From what I understand is the Bledsoe max would be done when the young guys contracts are up, so that was a positive. I guess the way I look at it is do you want to pay 12 mil for Pek per year or 14 mil for Bledsoe.

What would we have to do to shed salary to sign him outright? If we somehow got rid of Pek and traded martin using our trade exception, would it work?

Is Bledsoe a max player, though? I think that's where the discussion needs to start. Forget about injury history and how we'd acquire him for a second. I'm not so sure he is. I like that he's athletic as hell and plays above average defense and can get to the rim, but I don't know if this is a great idea.

When you consider our other potential stars aren't going to be ready for 2nd contracts for several years, I'm of the opinion that if Glen wants to spend the money who cares whether he is really a max ?

Is there no one else you'd rather spend that max money on, though? Klay Thompson? LaMarcus Aldridge? Paul Millsap? Greg Monroe? Goran Dragic? I'm not saying those guys are any more attainable than Bledsoe or are all better than him, but just because we have the money to spend doesn't mean we have to.

Another question: What are your thoughts on Reggie Jackson? To me, he's very similar to Bledsoe and he'll be a cheaper get as well. Just throwing that option out there.

Klay Thompson would be perfect with the other guys we have now, but I can't see him coming here.

Like Phantom, I think this trade talk is part of the Wolves negotiation with Ricky. I think the Wolves prefer to sign Ricky to a reasonable deal and not sign Bledsoe. I like the way the roster is constructed now, so I am not sure if paying a max deal to Bledsoe is the way to go as it might mean we can't also resign Ricky and Thad.

I can't see the Warriors offering him the max straight up. I can, however, see Flip throwing the max at Thompson and getting him to sign, essentially putting pressure on Golden State to match. Would they match? Or would they play it like Houston and let their young player leave? As soon as they matched, they'd be close to luxury tax level I believe with no way to significantly improve their team. Who knows, though. And that's why I brought it up.

What I'm saying is Klay doesn't want to come to Minnesota. He will have other options.

Another topic: Are Wiggins, LaVine, Bennett, Dieng, Muhammad better suited playing next to Bledsoe or Rubio? I think there's a great argument for Rubio. Ricky's much better than Bledsoe at spoon-feeding guys buckets. Think he's better for the young guys and their growth.
