Yup. Those are my top 3 awful broadcast teams.

For some reason, I like Frazier... Probably because I grew up as a Knick fan in my early days!

I'm with ya, Tim. My love for Clyde makes me enjoy his broadcast, even though objectively I realize he isn't very good. I loved those old Knick teams! I still get a chill up my spine when I think about Willis Reed limping onto the court for game 7 against the Lakers in 1970. He only scored 4 points (their first two baskets, I think) but many give him credit for winning that game.

The thing about Frazier is he is a legend and even though he doesn't give you much insight or much inteligent knowledge all all about the game being played he seems like a cool really good dude. He doesn't take his craft too seriously but he usually has some random old story from his playing days that's mildly interesting. Lol

Some of the announcers aren't so bad that are basically total homers for their team and so they operate from that point of view. That's fine even expected especially if they just stick to being homers about their team but its when they start saying ridiculous statements about what the other team is or isn't doing when its pretty obvious they have no clue is very annoying. Talk up your own guys as awesome that's fine but stick to that.

It seemed like maybe Memphis had a solid crew. Mostly I just think Jim Pete is one of the best you will find anywhere and that includes the big networks.

Watching the SL games I think Steve Smith was the only guy that I thought knew much about what he was talking about I like him a lot actually. Mateen Cleeves did crack me up with some comments though in a good way.

I remember watching this game. I was hoping for an LA sweep after watching the Wolves demolish the Lakers the day before.

It pretty much summed up the season.

Pek missing bunnies at the clutch.

Love being the only real threat, getting double teamed and having to jack up a shot.

Martin disappearing in 4th quarters

Adelman playing Barea ahead of Rubio in the 4th.

Unable to make stops when it mattered.

It was a combination of those things as to why we lost so many close games.

I thought Detroit and Dallas had good crews. Seemed reasonable with the homer BS, but also was pretty knowledgeable about the opposing Wolves.

I also love Jim Petetson. The best announcer I've heard. Some of the other teams announcers are too painful to listen too. The homerism and bias is disgusting lol.

I've never gotten a one-sided vibe from Golden State. Barnett has a good knowledge of other teams, even the Wolves.

A good friend of mine from NY was at that game. He's still passionate about that game and he provides the most entertaining, detailed description you'll ever hear of that moment when Reed unexpectedly walked through the tunnel and onto the floor during the pre-game shoot around. As my friend describes it, the crowd came to its feet in an unbelievable frenzy even by NY standards as Willis walked onto the court. As he stepped on the court, Reed's walk turned into a slow jog with no sign of any limp in his gate. The entire Laker team stopped shooting and stood staring at Willis as he joined his teammates in the shoot-around. As Reed approached his teammates, Frazier tossed him the ball and, in one fluid motion, Willis put the ball up from 15 feet. The ball glided through the air and fell through the hoop without touching the rim as the entire Laker team watched. My friend said it was at that moment the Knicks won the game.

It was of those truly legendary moments that remind those of us who love sports why we do.

I'm jealous of anyone who was there, because I was watching with Knick fan friends on a 19 inch Philco in New London, Connecticut. That's a great description of that spectacular sports moment, Lip, and your friend was right...the series was over the moment Reed appeared. It was a great series between two legendary teams. Willis was so tough on defense that Wilt hadn't scored more than 20 in any game, while Reed was averaging over 30 through the first 4 games. Then he got hurt badly in game 5, and with nobody able to guard him, Wilt went off for about 45 and 30 in game 6. Nobody thought Willis would play in game 7, and everyone assumed the Lakers would win by 20. But he played, and held Wilt to 20, and it was no contest with Frazier (who had stunk all series) blowing up for about 40 and 20!

I'd have to check the box scores, but as I recall Wilt missed more free throws than shots from the field in that series! Unstoppable if they could get the ball in to him, but unable to make a simple free throw.
