They would be. Because Pek can't bring back a truly effective two-way wing. Nikola simply isn't valuable enough to merit that kind of swap, and everyone else knows it. I addressed this in the very first post. We very likely cannot get value for Pek in a trade. At the same time, we can't keep playing him the lion's share of minutes next to Love in the starting unit and crunch time. The solution, then, seems obvious if somewhat painful (given his salary): bring the guy off the bench.

You may be correct, horatio, but I don't think we can make that statement definitively. Trades happen in all sports that leave me shaking my head in wonder, and Flip needs to dangle Pek out there to see if anyone bites. Sometimes an attractive player needs a change of venue because he has tired of his current team, and a team holding a player like that would love to get Pek in exchange for an unhappy star. The Wolves may be on the opposite side of this equation with Love next year, unfortunately. As your lead-off post says, it's not a bad scenario to use Pek, Love and Dieng in a 3-man rotation (although it freezes out one of my favorite players in Turiaf), but we're going to be better if Flip can turn Pek into that 2-way SG that this club really needs.
