They keep whining about DWill being inconsistent, but who on our bench isn't? How many of them can go off for a night like DWill did tonight? Lynch says you can't play DWill because you don't know what you will get on a nightly basis. So your options are a horrible night from our bench guys like DC, Bud, Luc, etc. or a bad night from DWill with the possibility of a night like tonight. Oh, I forgot to mention he was the youngest guy of all of the above listed inconsistent bench guys. Petersen said Hummel had a great game????? I guess that means that DWill has had about 25 great games since joining SAC!
Would we be out of the PO's if DWill had posted three or four games like this for us?
The vitriol for Dwill was always mental. I guess when there is an issue of someone not playing up to "potential" there is going to be some stubbornness but it was always too much. The kid never got a proper look here and was traded at the worst possible time when his value couldn't have been lower and we got nothing in return. So sad.
Watch a game of Dwill's that isn't against the wolves, Or just look at his numbers for the season. He's just not a good player. Not someone to be mad about leaving. Plus he's going to be making 7 mil a year with his new extention
Why do you guys always sidestep the real issue. Let me make it clear for you why some of us are upset with the DW trade. We had nothing better, and a lot worse on our bench then and now! Trading DW did nothing to improve the wolves, and took away an asset. Who on our current bench other than JJ, has put up a game like DW had last night? and that isn't DW only good game. Yes, he is inconsistent, just like 80% of the players in the NBA. If that wasn't the case, there would be no reason to play the games.
As usual, void of all reasonable facts we are going to come up with another fictitious reason for trading DW. " he's going to be making 7 mil a year with his new extention". I guess I didn't hear about this extension he signed with SAC. Why would a team sign a player who is "just not a good player" to a 7 mil extension?

It was a bad trade. Not horrible, but it was a bad trade.
Derrick Williams can blow up at anytime and has done so numerous times. A lot like JJ. If we traded him we need to get someone that could help us. Not a worse version of Cunningham. We could have gotten Courtney Lee for him if we played our cards right. We might even have gotten a chance to get Waiters for him. It was just a bad trade. We traded low.

it was before the season. Flip had to decide on the his rookie deal to give him a extension of 7 mil a year or he would be a UFA at the end of the year. Part of the new collective bargaining agreement.
Calling Dwill an asset is making it seem like you could of actually got something for him, Turner, who was a better player only fetched a second rounder. What exactly did you think the wolves could of got for him?

They picked up his option for next season. A common practice for most teams. It was a little over 6.6 mil for one season, and is part of his rookie deal not an extension. Not have as bad as the 5 mil were paying Bud for nothing.
Evan Turner went for a second because his contract is up the end of the season making him a RFA, and was looking for big money. Problem is that he is an inefficient scorer, and average defender. Dwill is also 3 years younger than Turner, so odds are that he will still improve.
