What a stupid play there at the end of the half by Naz. Turns it over then just flops to the ground for no apparent reason taking him out of the play for defense allowing the Lakers to come down and score easily and quickly assuring they would get the Lakers would get final possession as well. What a terrible contract Naz already is.

Shannon is really struggling with defensive IQ as well and when Reid and Naz are in there you absolutely have to have your perimeter guys play smart, lockdown defense. He's been sneaky bad. Disappointing.

Naz, TJ and Rob 3 for 15 in the half...1 for 6 on treys. At least Naz made up for his bad shooting with his elite defe...never mind.

Another great half from Ju...he's on his way to his 5th straight A grade.

4 / 16 shooting from our bench tonight, as well as very porous defense. Rebounding still a big issue.

Shannon needs to learn to shoot.

Most coaches - even good ones - have a certain shelf life with a team. How many times have we seen Coach A get a team to the playoffs and then Coach B takes mostly that same team to the Finals?

I don't know what Finch's shelf life is with the Wolves but he has quite a long tenure by NBA standards.

I agree. I think Finch is a really good coach. If there was not multiple players making comments about coaching I would not be as worried as I am.

Exactly. Curry has no trouble finishing inside even though he’s no taller than Dilly and less athletic. There’s a long list of similarly small PGs through NBA history who have finished well at the rim. It’s a learned skill that requires substantial consistent playing time at the NBA level to develop.

Yep, Curry measured one inch taller without shoes in the combine. No material difference there. Mike Conley measured 2 inches shorter than Dilly. Chris Paul measured an 1.25 inches shorter than Dilly. There’s not debating that PGs with length very similar to Dilly’s have proven to be great, not just good, PGs. And all of them could finish effectively in the paint. Many of them fell well short of Dilly’s 42” vertical and some weren’t as quick with the ball. So it’s just skill development though repetition. It’s clear he has a strong competitive drive to go with his considerable talent. Now it’s all about opportunity.

Tonight he’s not shooting well. But his passing has been very good and his protecting the ball. I want to see him play 25 minutes a game for a two-week stretch to give him a chance to develop and get a better sense of him. Finch probably won’t do that. I’m beginning to lose patience with Finch.

Jaden clearly doesn’t agree with Finchy’s assessment of his defense. What did Mike say?
