Shannon with his typical take one-step forward (last game), two-steps back (this game) routine. He was AWFUL in this game. Got burned by Scoot on multiple possessions, missed two very make-able shots, and was a -13 in only 11 minutes. Those occasional flourishes of excellence against OKC (of all teams!) appear to be illusory. He might just suck at NBA basketball.
I've never been more wrong about a player (up to this point at least). How he somehow just got way worse in year two is mind boggling. I was betting on a step forward and a nice one. Thought oh, he can learn to play some defense, rebound a bit, oh he can up his 3P%. Nope, nope, nope.
I do think it's fair to point to his injuries and then lack of confidence probably from said injuries (played poorly while slightly hobbled). Shit happens I guess.
Sounded like he worked on his three point shot non stop this past summer. He put up the most shots of anyone that stayed in Minnesota last summer. Last year he really wasn't on the scouting report, and this year he is on the scouting report as far as players trying to draw charges when he goes hard at the basket and to force him to the one side since he can't shoot with his off hand. I'm hoping Ayo sticks around all summer and works with Shannon, I know they are basically the same age but there is so much Shannon can learn from Ayo when it comes to finishing at the hoop.

He is still relatively young, he's got time still to have a good career, so we'll see. How much better would we be if say either or both of TJ and Clark were poppin? Me being a homer thought both would be.
