Arif Hasan via The Athletic has similar positive reports about O'neil With him winning 1 on 1 reps in practice etc and the athletic traits looking like a real asset. I saw somewhere that your guy Willie Beavers caught a ripped pass in preseason. :)
Willie is going to figure it out. :-) I think I would be more excited if he wasn't a second round pick. Elfein set the bar. He was a third rounder and started from day one. I looked at the other 2nd rounders and about half are starting or primary backup. O'Neill is a 3rd stringer at this point.
I was guessing BRob wouldn't make it. I was pleased Devanti Downs and Brandon Zylstra made the team. I was shocked by Newman retiring and we carried 4 RB's.

BRob AND Newman that was pretty surprising but they were some talented groups. Roc Thomas making the roster was surprising also.
Edison made it through waivers and is back on the PS. I was wrong on him and others were right. Glad to see Beebe on the PS also.
Wile was claimed and so we have a new punter. This seems like a bit of a weird deal although Priefer was making comments about the pints not being what they wanted. Still a bit strange to dump Quigley for a relatively inexperienced guy and now we have a new holder for the rookie kicker. Jeff Locke was available. Lol
Edit: Researching a bit on Wile he had a very good statistical preseason. Steelers fans say he should have won the job. He also hit 2 extra points. This move saves the team $240,000 in cap space which is a nice bonus.
Glad to Edison and Beebe made it to PS. I felt bad for Edison. Starts 3 preseason games and then sits out 4th. That can be thought of as he was a week one starter, but giving Isadora center snaps and trading for Jones was not a good sign. I would have liked to see Weineke make the PS too.

Weineke I think has a chance to be something at some point but he is more of a big guy than he is fast. That doesn't help on the fringes of the roster especially since those guys have to play special teams. I wasn't impressed with what I saw out of Badett but there wasn't a whole lot to see in preseason.
Yeah I didn't get Badett signing to PS. That is why I would have taken Weineke. I would like to see us bring in some more LB's. I have seen enough of Brothers. I don't see him as anything more than a special teams guy.

The thing about Brothers is I hear he is a top ST performer. If other guys step up while he is gone and Downs progresses he might not have a job...assuming there isn't some opening for him because of injury. I agree he isn't more than ST guy and just a depth guy.
If you are bored go look at the Pats roster right now. It's kinda crazy the amount of guys they have at certain positions is quite interesting.
