Shit. Would have liked to see him shipped out East. McCollum isn't really a game changer, but he is a high quality piece. And the Pelicans have comported themselves fairly well considering their best player has been out the whole time.

So Portland is clearly retrenching - good for us. But what's not good for us is that the Clippers and now Pelicans are the beneficiaries. Why does it always have to be another Western Conference team!?

Sounds like Josh Hart and draft compensation is headed to Portland for C.J. McCollum. That could be really meaningful, especially next year when New Orleans is healthy.

I don't want to see the Pelicans in the play in. If Zion comes back this year they are a really good team on paper.

Portland is finalizing acquiring Josh Hart, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Tomas Satoransky and draft compensation in the CJ McCollum trade, sources said.

We're looking at the Pelicans, Lakers, and Clippers in the play-in tournament. Yeah, I'll pass. Too much that can go wrong for the Wolves there. This is why they need to be maneuvering and fighting for a top-six seed. All three of those teams are dangerous on any given night.

Ingrham and McCollum seem like a very weird pair to me.

I personally don't worry about the Pelicans because I don't think Zion will ever stay healthy and most of his game is athleticism. I know posted this before but I like the Greek freak but what happens when he can't jump on the building anymore what type of player is he? It's the same way I feel about Zion

We've already seen example of this in Blake Griffin

The Williamson saga has been a mess. Last I heard he was off rehabbing away from the team. That was over a month ago.

Why should we think there's any chance of him returning this season?

Russell Westbrook is another guy whose game hasn't aged well and a lot of us kind of saw that coming in his heyday. Just too reliant on sheer force of will and athleticism.

Having an elite shooting touch as your core strength (Durant, Curry, even Chris Paul esp. from mid-range) really really helps.

I think the Brandon Ingram and C.J. McCollum duo can work well simply because they operate best from different areas of the floor. Ingram loves the top of the key and mid-post whereas McCollum is usually most dangerous above the break. That'll be a very dangerous offense moving forward.

I think even without Zion Williamson, that core is really tough. Ingram, McCollum, and Jonas Valanciunas is a formidable core with Devonte' Graham coming off the bench. They will have serious trouble defending anyone, but their offense is going to be difficult to stop.
