What loss is that?

A friend of his died in a shooting the other day.

That's sad. I'm sure Butler tweeted his sympathy and support for Wiggins.

A guy being pressured from the top to win games and get out of the first round is not trading his best player and MVP candidate for young pieces. You're basically expecting Thibs to hang himself for the perceived good of the franchise. Not happening.

I agree with you that Thibs isn't going to trade Jimmy, but it is still the right thing to do. Maybe Thibs has to go first to get this necessary step to happen.

Just commenting on Cam's point about the time to trade Jimmy was on draft night. That would have been preferred, But i still think there is a window to move him up until training camp. And then of course at the deadline, but I'm sure his trade value would be much less at that point.

This article is saying we still have 6.2 mil. That is 2 decent players with what players are getting paid now. We could still see a contributor coming to this team if that is the case.

Sorry for the poor formatting but here is what i have. I took these numbers from Sportrac and Basketball Insiders. Note I have only the cap charge for Rose not his full Vet min Salary at 2.4 million that is supplemented by the league.

Player salary/cap charge
1 Wiggins $25,250,000.00
2 Butler $20,445,779.00
3 teague $19,000,000.00
4 Dieng $15,170,787.00
5 Gibson $14,000,000.00
6 Towns $7,839,435.00
7 Patton $2,667,600.00
8 Jones $2,444,053.00
9 Rose $1,512,601.00
10 Okogie $2,160,720.00
11 Tolliver $5,750,000.00
12 KBD $831,927.00
13 $1,512,601.00
14
15
Aldrich $2,056,021.00
Martin $1,360,304.00
Total $122,001,828.00
lux tax $123,733,000.00
Space under lux tax $1,731,172.00

So there is no excess wiggle room here. I put in one vet min salary spot at #13. There is a $831,927 charge until that spot is filled but we are clearly going ot add a vet min guy at some point. So the last 2 spots the Wolves will have enough money for a couple options.

1. Sign a vet min Player and have $218,571.00 in room for any other signings or transactions like giving some cap tryouts some money (I believe that does count against the cap).

2. Sign 2 rookies to spots $14 and $15 to fill out the roster completely with like $67,318.00 left.

I would guess the Wolves will sign 2 more vet min guys maybe one of them will have a fairly small guarantee in case some rookie blows them away and they want to add them to the roster and cut the vet loose.

Regardless the Wolves have space to add cheap players and stay under the cap. They have no real recourse on adding anyone for much more than that. That's fine with me. Not idea, but I think there will be worthwhile players available for the vet min. It happened last year and this year is even more tight when it comes to money.

Its on his instagram.

Smokedawg, a Toronto rapper, was shot a couple of days ago. He's a known acquaintance of guys like wiggins and drake. No idea how close they were though.

Thibs is here and Jimmy is here. Just let that pipe dream die. At best Thibs would be fired at the deadline and that would require a disaster of a start which isn't happening because we have a good team. It's just not happening.
