the fact that he has a thin frame combined with average legth scares me, hell he struggled badly with length in college what;s going to happen in the NBA?
What struggles did he have in college? I wanted nearly every game and didn't see him struggle with any defender this year. If thin framed is a concern, then Collins being the same size, and Isaac being 25 pounds lighter and smaller and only a 7'1" wingspan isn't killing the measurements.
Like I mentioned in my write up, I would feel more comfortable with Markk on this team with his skillset and shooting ability. If we can secure a FA PF in Ibaka, (pipe dream) to become our starter then our bench depth with a scorer next to Dieng would be amazing. I don't see a true starter caliber player beyond Fultz, Ball, Jackson and if we can get a PF like Ibaka we can allow growth options for a guy like Markk to adapt. My opinion

If your draft pick can become one of your better players, it is a huge advantage. No real substitute for a major contributor being on a rookie contract. This is a strong draft, so I'm thinking we should be able to find a guy who fills the bill. I hope we keep and hit on this pick.

I don't think he's bad, I just think he's too one dimensional for my liking if we have a top 6 pick and there are two way talents on the board. The same school thing is a nod to when the Wolves went to Syracuse twice giving us two of the franchise's worst ever picks in Flynn and Wes Johnson.

I'm telling you, stats like blocks, assists, and rebounds - i.e. the "do shit" stats - translate quite well to the NBA. With Markkanen at his size, if he couldn't rebound, pass, or protect the rim well in college, it ain't happening in the NBA. He's a one-dimensional player and it's likely to stay that way.

Fair concerns on Collins in terms of his minutes and conference. I'm convinced he would have been the starting Center on most other elite D-1 teams if he wasn't playing behind 5th year senior Karnowski. Gonzaga was often better with Collins in the game though because of his mobility. His big issue was foul problems because he's an aggressive S.O.B.

He can jump out of the gym so his length is a non-issue for rebounding and only becomes an issue if you make him ground based defensively. I'm not as worried about that when he's coming from the weak side because most weakside defenders are challenging guys already going up for shots. His biggest problems are fouling and if his length is an issue he won't be a great ground based defender, but I believe that's what KAT is for. Let Collins cover the weak side.

Last year there were fans of Thomas Bryant on this board. He is an intruiging guy. It's just one clip of a workout but he looks pretty good stroking the 3.

I remember being a fan of him. Did he do much to improve this year?
