Yeah I remeber looking up his stats a while ago and wasn't impressed. I wasnt surprised because if he had progressed Indiana would have been a better team and they weren't. About the only think he improved on was taking and making 3's. His physical profile is intruiging and for a guy that hasn't turned 20 yet and you could take a flyer on him in the top of the 2nd round (where he is projected now) and hope he gets it to some extent...that seems about right.

I thought this was kinda and interesting thought on Markkanan from the Mavs radio play by play guy. I don't know if the guy knows anything or not but I thought it was an interesting range of comps.

Or for that matter is he Ryan Anderson? Now if you're Ryan Anderson you're a 10-year player. You're not necessarily an All-Star, but you're a 10-year player in the NBA. You can't really argue with that pick.

That is my concern. You might be able to finder a better defender/rebounder etc that is 6'8" and nearly equal shooter. Being a taller shooter is not good enough in my mind. Why not TJ Leaf? Or Caleb Swanigan if you want a single skill? I think we need a guy that is going to be able to support the team we have and both KAT and Wiggins don't have huge holes in any area besides defense which they will grow into.

We need to draft the best "do shit" guy and not draft a shooting specialist. There are plenty of guys who were great shooters in college that were disappointments in the pros. Off the top of my head: Derrick Williams (shot over 50%), Adam Morrison, Jimmer Fredette, McDermott, Stauskas are some guys that were or have been flops.

Kawhi Leonard wasn't much of a shooter in college, but he was a really good do shit guy who improved his outside shooting in the pros. That's the route that I want to go.

Honestly, I'm not sold on any single player in this draft. Nope, not even Fultz. I felt the same way on last year's draft (though Dunn was my favorite for us at our slot). I'm of the opinion that this is a deep draft with no sure things, and that is why I'd like to see a trade down for two "lottery tickets".

I'm betting on a trade down for a OG, Mitchell, Thornwell, etc. type wing and a big like Allen, Ike, bell, etc.

Me too...not tied to any one guy (I liked Dunn last year too) and agree that trading down is a viable strategy. I'm more anti-Markannen than pro-name-your-prospect.

Anyone that projects as kinda soft and limited has a huge DO NOT TOUCH sign on them for me.

By the way, Fultz's scouting report on DX talks about his non-nonchalance on defense and sometimes not going full speed. So yes, I'd even be concerned with him given the fact we already have one enigmatic former #1 pick whose motor and defense is questionable.

To be fair and I agree with you guys. But curry and klay Thompson where great shooters and they turned out fine.

And comparing Derrick Williams and Issac in college they both did the do shit stats. Derrick a few more rebs, same in Stls and asts and isaac a few more blocks. Both could put the ball on the ground and are both SF/PF tweeners one for height (Williams) and one for bulk (Issac).

I like Isaac a lot and don't like maarkann, but there are examples both ways to fit the narative we want
