Tyus can do that for us. We may lose on the offensive end, but if we have quality offensive possessions and go tit for tat on our second unit then I do believe we have a good chance to win many games. A rubio/martin/Wiggins/kg/towns 1st line can definitely put us/keep us ahead.

I hear you. It all sounds good in theory. I just don't think Tyus's game will translate well at the next leveI and that includes offense. He reminds me too much of Trey Burke. I get that he can get things organized and get guys the ball. But I question his ability to beat folks off the dribble and get his shot off cleanly. And defensively.....Oof.

Tyus is almost the perfect backup point guard. Should be in the rotation this year. We are really building some good depth throughout the roster.

He was the best young Turkish player so he might develop in 2 or 3 years.

I agree, you have very valid points on him. I am being a hopeful opTIMistic, and definitely have some bias due to his play in our state. At least we can both agree and rejoice that we are debating on a player we received for a 31/36 pick, one of which we didn't sell for the first time in forever, and not on the pick which will ultimately define this draft/our fate.

Harrell, Mickey, Brown, Hernangomez all go. This is pretty much to form and all have shots to make a roster. Cliff Alexander, Upshaw, Connaughton and Gudaitis available at our spot at 36.

Wolves draft Rakeem Christmas. Nice wingspan.

This is an extraordinary night, fellas. While Towns is not a surprise, it still is terrific news. And I would have never anticipated landing Tyus Jones with only having to give up 2 second rounders. Flip plugged our two biggest needs with high quality players.

Q, I hear your concerns about Tyus, and have had some of the same thoughts in the past about comparing him with Burke. And I also have big concerns about Tyus' defense. But he has an extraordinary makeup that you don't see in players his age. He has won at every level, and always seems to play his best in the biggest games. I think it was bleedspeed who fairly questioned why anyone would draft a team's 3rd best player in the first round. I concur that statistically Tyus was Duke's third best player most of the season. But when they really needed him, and especially in the NCAA finals, he was their best player...yes, better than Okafor and Winslow. They don't beat Wisconsin without Tyus having the game he had. I don't anticipate that Tyus will ever be a good NBA defender, but he will be able to run the offense and score from Day 1, and won't be afraid to take the big shot when we need it.

Q - I am a fan of drafting Jones, but I would not want to depend on him handling the backup PG duties in the coming season. And I don't want to see LoBrown, either. Flip still needs to bring in a vet backup PG.
