I saw the beatdown in Game 2. I missed last night's game.

As a Celtics guy... something seems wrong about that.

I think the Celtics have to bring Thomas back. There's just too much goodwill and fandom there right now, especially with the loss of his sister. But I think Ainge and others can see the writing on the wall. He's not going to be THE guy on a championship run largely because of his size.

Draft Fultz.
Chase Hayward. Maybe Griffin. Maybe another guy.
Do even better next season.

That wouldn't be a win for Thomas. He'd miss out on 30+ million if he had to sign somewhere else. A five year max from Boston is the most he can make by a long shot.

Any time a player is looking at the largest contract of his life (by many times over)... at a max amount of any kind... I consider it a win.

If ever there was a team where Milsap fits like a glove, it's the Celtics.....

So, we have a clear picture of what Thibs wants this offseason: 3-point shooting, a defensive SF, and a rim-protector.

Which one of those three priorities does Milsap address?

Paul Milsap is a plus defender only one year removed from leading the NBA in defensive win shares who can easily guard back to the basket players or stretch 4's, he's also a decent 3 point shooter for his position so I think it addresses a little bit of all 3

that's better than Draymond Green this season, is he a bad 3 point shooter now too? Milsap shot about .360 the two years before I believe Draymond has only ever shot a higher 3 point percentage once

I turned on the game tonight to see Manu's last stint. I kinda hope he comes back but he was terrific in that series maybe it was a good way to go out. He is gonna be one of those guys in X amount of years people that didn't see him play are gonna be confused as to why he was considered such a good player.
