I'll keep track of this throughout the day because I think it really is an interesting hypothetical scenario. I also think it's probably the only trade offer that could get Davis at the moment, if there even is such an offer that would exist.

One last thing is you don't just hold onto your own guy/s of you think you can really improve your team but I think if the decision is tougher teams tend to hold onto their own guys (makes sense for a number or reasons marketing human element etc) especially if you value them and they are good guys which AD and Wiggins seem to be. That would clearly be some sort of factor for both franchises in this hypothetical deal.

Oh yeah. Even if the Wolves did win No. 1 overall, they would never package it with Wiggins or LaVine. They believe in them from all angles. And even if they did offer it, the Pelicans wouldn't be able to make the trade whether they liked the value or not. It'd be marketing disaster for them even considering how great Wiggins and Simmons could be.

The Pelicans wouldn't do that trade.

I do wonder I we'd have enough defense between AD and Towns to cover up for Shabazz and LaVine being our starting wings moving forward. I think Shabazz could really fill it up with starter minutes, a double double guy from the wing for sure.

If the Pelicans would do it, it is a no brainer for our team.

I think in that case you absolutely go spend on a 3/D wing. Batum, Barnes, Bazemore, whoever. Or offer up something of value for Korver. Why? The winning window would be immediate in that case.

Just for fun let's put Lavine in this trade instead of Wiggins how much does that move the meter for this trade from yes to no or a polite "no thanks" etc?

I said it last year, and I still believe it. LaVine will be better than Wiggins. I still do that trade though.

Rubio, Wiggins, AD, and Towns. Talk about defense.

I think it's an even bigger no from them and a bigger yes for us. I still think Wiggins will be the better player than Lavine long-term.

Yeah, I think it's a no from NOLA if you put LaVine in place of Wiggins. Wiggins should have more value right now despite the good things we've seen from LaVine. I'm also not 100% sure that Wiggins will be better than LaVine if both hit their supposed ceiling, but Wiggins is probably the better bet right now.

I like the idea of Rubio/Wiggins/Ingram/Dieng or Free Agent/KAT and LaVine as 6th man more than I like Rubio/LaVine/?/KAT/AD and Dieng as 6th man. So I guess its a relucant no even though I'm a huge AD fan. The big reason is that we give up a huge salary cap edge and we take on a guy with a history of health issues. If we didn't acquire AD, we'd have the capacity to add a player like Horford, Batum or even Gasol. Trading Wiggins would leave us with a huge hole at Small Forward. Plus I think the KAT, Wiggins, LaVine bond is cool and it would be good to see the three young amigos win a championship or two or three together.

I'd rather trade #1 pick, Dieng and Bazz for AD. Alternatively, I'd rather trade #1 for Rudy Gobert. Imagine Thibs as coach with Rubio/Lavine/Wiggins/KAT/Gobert.

Salary cap space shouldn't be a reason not to do this hypothetical trade because we'd be getting an MVP player that's 23-years old today (March 11). The only way I'd be judging this trade is value-wise. Would you give up Wiggins and Ingram (or Simmons) for Davis, period. The rest would fall in line. That hole at SF is almost guaranteed to be filled by somebody who wants to play with Davis + Towns + Rubio + LaVine for the next four or five years.

Having Davis would also make the situation much more attractive to GM and HC types around the league. Not only do you have the league's most promising big (Towns), you have the league's second-most promising big in Davis, and some other nice pieces.

As I said previously, you could throw big money at Barnes (23 years old) to replace Wiggins' youth and defense. I'd be okay with overpaying a guy that would fit a hole and helps us win now (real playoff contention and beyond) in Batum. Stars attract the semi-stars in free agency.

So, to me, Rubio-LaVine-Barnes-Davis-Towns or Rubio-LaVine-Batum-Davis-Towns is what I would go for. All hypothetical, I know, but that lineup with a great coach (Thibs) puts you in the upper half of the Western Conference.

Surprised to see Baldwin at 6. I like the kid a lot, but was still shocked.
