Brad Johnson, Kurt Warner, Jim Plunkett and Doug Williams.
That was from a quick search, not sure if I missed any. Anyways I guess the point is NEVER go for a double retread, it is very rare it works out and the other teams are dumping them for a reason.
idk 4 Double retread QBs in my lifetime seems like a pretty good rate to me lol
Yeah but how many signings? It's very low probability in the end. I think you are better off to keep drafting until you hit rather then do what the Vikings have done too often in history and go for the retreads. Retreads are a short term mentality rather then hitting on the big one. Find the next Russell Wilson or Patrick Mahomes not the next Jim McMahon, Frerrotte, Cassel or Bradford. Then when you swing and miss you need to cut bait sooner as well like with Ponder.

And how many guys were drafted during that same period? Terrible odds!!! Lol

Both odds are terrible. But if 49/53 superbowls are one by non-retreads then I would argue that is the way to go. I don't think you can consider a 1 team retread as a real retread. Like Brett Favre for instance. Was drafted by Atlanta, never played even. Steve Young, drafted by Tampa, but played very little.
Then we have the for sure non retreads like Brady, Montana and Bradshaw, etc. Multiple SB winners. You don't have a chance to get those guys unless you draft them. Makes you wonder too, what if TB kept Young? Is he in the HOF? IDK. They were a terrible franchise for so long during that span.

How old do you think I am? Lol
Steve Young spent his time as QB for Tampa running for his life. Lol I was just a kid back then but he was fun to watch and looked plenty talented and was quite athletic.
I'm mostly just messing around but there are times as you have shown teams ended up winning with a guy that wasn't exactly a guy that was highly sought after. Nick Foles is another Double retread that won a Super Bowl. There is some luck involved and quite frankly the NFL is a league where just getting into the playoffs...you do have a chance. It's harder in the sports where you gotta win a series of games to move on each round. NFL is more like a small version of the NCAA tourney.

I forgot Foles was a double retread. You're right that not necessarily the best team wins, often they don't. Maybe not as flukey as baseball but we have seen some teams with mediocre records win. Play well at the right time.
I do have some faith in Cousins that he could get it done, but we need a top 5 defense and still some OLine help, though they have improved the last 5 weeks overall. I guess since Ezra stepped in and started playing solid.

Fan favorite Brett Jones has been playing the last 2 weeks at RG. Dude looks like a marshmallow. He looks bigger in a good way I guess. I'm not suggesting it's a bad thing.

Ravens are now 6-5 and Vikings 5-6.

Vikings are 4-1 since trading him, and the Ravens are 1-4 since acquiring him."

Kirk is not a Super Bowl caliber QB. Those guys don't consistently make excuses every single year for what surrounds them to get the job done. He's had elite skill players since he got here and a good defense every year except this one and we aren't close to the top teams in the league. Needing a good line, elite skill guys and a top 5-10 defense is way too many things that have to go your way to be a real Super Bowl caliber QB.
