Lip -- I think you're overlooking the Conley for DLo swap. On paper, Conley is a much better fit with our roster than Dlo. This is the kind of "go-big, go-for-it" move that Lore/A-Rod/Connelly could pull off.
I am on the camp of keeping dlo. I am not onboard the 40m gobert proposal here. We can't start the season with Pat bev as the starting pg. Keep dlo and trade beas/naz/vando for a quality center.

We're in sync on this, Lip. Just under 70-percent (!) of Minnesota's salary cap would be tied up in Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, assuming cap projections prove accurate. It's even worse if the cap doesn't elevate like expected. That is incredibly difficult to work around.

That's right, Cam. It would be a big mistake to tie up 70% of our cap in two bigs. And it's also important to emphasize that there are some really good alternatives to Gobert who won't pose the same financial risk and who the Wolves can probably obtain without giving up what it would take to get Gobert.
The most sensible, logical move for the Wolves is to trade Beasley and Naz for one of the bigs I've mentioned previously. If it takes one future 1st-round pick then so be it. Put Capela, Nurkic, Myles Turner, Mitchell Robinson or Richaun Holmes in the starting lineup with KAT, McDaniels, Edwards and DLO with Beverley, Nowell, Anderson and Prince off the bench and we'd have a heck of a team.
That is a legit contending roster with enough youth to retool when Gobert and Conley fade away in a few years. I know Connelly said there are no shortcuts, but sometimes there are. I think that team goes toe to toe with anybody. If ownership and the Jazz agreed to it, you have to do that.
I know he performed admirably last year, but Mike Conley Jr. turns 35-years old before this upcoming season begins. He also has two-years, $47-million left on his deal. How much more does he realistically have left in the tank? I honestly have no idea, and it might not even be a legitimate concern, but in addition to the risk with Rudy Gobert's supermax and the outgoing assets required, I just think we'd look back on that deal unfavorably in no more than just a couple years. That's just my personal take on it. I very well could be in the minority.

Wouldn't the point of this type of deal would take advantage of Ant and McDaniels rookie contracts?
I mean you could over spend here. Your moving Kat to the 4 and Gobert has to outproduce any 4 we had last year which I think is a huge gain. How much is a downgrade Connely from DLO?
Lets be honest if Ant and Jaden don't make leaps in there games none of this matter anyway. This is where the gap in production from Pg position comes in. Because those two can definitely fill in that gap.
For record I think the move is Capella if I was running the team.
