Yeah nice post.

One thing that just dawned on me. Some tend to throw around the term "average" as if that player isn't anything special. The problem? The term "average" really comes down to the amount of skill currently in the game & more specifically that position. The deeper a position the better those "average" players actually are.

Yeah that's a good point especially for the Wolves who if they had more "Average" type players over the years they might have actually been more successful.

Let's assume we acquire Young for that Miami 1st, Barea and Mbah a Moute. Either include Shved or buy him out using that money the Wolves acquired for 2nd round picks. Doesn't matter to me.

PG: Rubio / Williams
SG: Martin / Brewer / LaVine
SF: Wiggins / Budinger / Muhammad / Robinson III
PF: Young / Bennett / Hummel
C: Pekovic / Dieng / Turiaf

Bold = Rotation players

How many wins is that team capable of with Flip coaching? I could easily be too optimistic once again, but 35-40 wins seems reachable.

Easily optimistic. Not only did the Wolves get worse, other teams in the West got a hell of a lot better as well. All the teams that were in the Wolves range (NO,Den,Dal,Sac) all can probably expect to be better next year.

Denver and Sac-Town aren't better than our Love-less Wolves. I don't see that at all.

Dallas is a top-four seed. That much is clear to me.

The jury's still out on New Orleans. They SHOULD be better than us, based on talent and names, but we'll see. I'd be surprised if they weren't.

I expect Houston to be worse, but still playoff bound. I expect Phoenix to come back to reality. Los Angeles got worse. Utah still sucks.

So why exactly is 35-40 wins not reachable?

Denver won 36 games last year basically without Gallo. Yeah I know they have injury problems (so do the Wolves lineup) but they also added Affalo so they should be at least as good as they were last year which was 4 wins less than the Wolves but its reasonable that Denver will be a better team than last year. How many wins will that be? Idk

Who would you rather trade for Thad? Shabazz or Bennett?

Shabazz isn't getting traded for Thad so this is pretty much a useless question.

Cam,

If you had to have one on the team next year. Who would you want? Shabazz or Bennett?

would they have to play or could they ride the bench all year?
