Houston should have kept Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert in that James Harden trade... Big miscalculation on their part.

I simply didn't understand the Dipo for Lavert aspect. I thought wanting a possible valuable draft pick for Allen was more defendable.

That's big time for Orlando. Good for them. Not a price I would have been willing to outbid.
I know you highlighted Hampton and a 1st. But Gary Harris is hot garbage. He had a couple really promising seasons, but his last 3 years have gotten worse and worse. And he makes $20M next season?????
I am just surprise they took back such a crappy contract for Gordon. Would have thought they could have gotten similar deal with expiring....maybe not. Or maybe they actually like Harris?
I don't think they would have agreed to taking back Gary Harris' contract if they weren't receiving R.J. Hampton in the deal. He's basically a lottery talent and better than any other young player that was being offered. A lot of people around the league were high on him from what I was reading.
Side note, Harris' trajectory is really weird to me. He was ascending into a very promising young guard for the Nuggets and then absolutely crashed. He was supposed to be part of that core. What a shame.
Harris has a history of injury which is a problem. For Orlando he is only signed for one more year (still 26 years old) and at this point they have a wide open spot at SG there is a chance they rehab his value some and move him for a little value in a year from now...or maybe they keep him on a reasonable deal. He isn't the guy but he has been a part of a good team for a few years. A different spot might be good for him...like I said especially in terms of his value going up. He needs to be healthy first though as he isn't even healthy now. Basically what the Magic did this trade deadline was get worse but also added draft picks while adding younger players at spots they traded away.
Re: Trade deadline thread
Aldridge will be bought out and sounds like he is going to the Heat.
I think them adding Belly is the most underrated move of the day. Butler and Belly had the best numbers on the Wolves in that Butler year.

Re: Trade deadline thread
Thanks for all the updates, guys, on trades around the league. Can someone direct me to the thread that summarizes all the Wolves' moves, so I don't have to search for it?
All kidding aside, most of us had some deals that we liked or kind of liked, but all of us were at least a little concerned that Ramblin' Rosas might do a deal that would be considered another overpay. It would have been more fun to have a deal to discuss, but maybe we're lucky nothing happened. The Wolves have some interesting young pieces and 2 guys who made up our starting backcourt just a month ago returning...plus a new coach. So it's not like we don't have enough to keep us entertained. So unless there's a deal we haven't heard about involving our hapless franchise, I'm ready to move on to finally find out if the Rosas Chemistry Experiment will be successful, or blow up in our faces. Could go either way...

I could see his skills being more valuable for that team than he was with the Kings. Idk where things stood but earlier in the season my friend that is a kings fan said he wasn't really happy there.

Great for Atlanta. Not sure how this helps the Clippers.
Must think Playoff Rondo has one more run in him?
I have doubts, too.
I guess they REALLY wanted a vet PG. Lou Williams still is doing his thing. I was surprised at his assist numbers when I looked up his stats to make sure he hadn't like forgotten how to play basketball or something.
The good news is that it seems there is a market for vet PG that does stuff...it may need to be the right situation but this Rondo deal shows if the Wolves want to move a Rubio at some point they might get something moderately worthwhile back.

This is Rondo's 8th team in the past 7 seasons.
He's taken 2 free throws total... in 27 games.
