The one thing most sports teams provide that we just don't is attendance. We're always at or near the bottom. If you are a buyer and you in theory have to keep the team here or he won't sell to you, how are you spending more than a billion on this team? I would really question that 1.3 billion evaluation. We just don't pack in that stadium hardly ever. We can blame bad teams for decades, but I'm not sure even with a good team how much we would fill up the stadium. It is a big red flag for ownership. Not to mention you aren't getting a new stadium any time soon from the city.

Yup. The city has shown virtually no interest in this team for a while and who can blame them.

These are good points. It's also worth saying that...this team has been bad for how long and...Glen is likely gonna sell it for at least a billion it's been a very good investment for him. Just imagine if you were an owner that thought you could make this team a winner. This franchise even if it just became the next Memphis would make plenty of cash. If this team didn't suck people would absolutely show. People with this kind of money are likely ones with ego's that think they are gonna be the ones turning things around...which to some extent you would hope they would think that. Lol

I'd be curious to learn more what you mean by this negative view people have about MN right now.

Most everyone that I talk to from out of state have mentioned something. I got calls asking if I was okay. Rumor is my wife's office will be closing or relocating out of DT next to Target Center when the lease is up due to crime. That is 100+ people getting lunch, taking clients out to dinner, and going to concerts and games regularly. We have not made it official but we are closing our office in Minnesota now.

We spent the weekend on great lakes of Iowa. Everyone had a comment when they found out we are from Minnesota. Minneapolis had a good brand going for itself coming off a Superbowl and Final Four. Now its brand is closer to Saint Louis, Chicago, Detriot, & Baltimore. Those are all places companies I work with don't have satellite offices.

That is what I am personally seeing and hearing. In my opinion, if you want a vibrant city it will start in the core and work its way out. Minneapolis slowly has stopped policing downtown and over the last 3 years. It was starting to be a problem last year for restaurants and the trend will continue. Otherwise, you will see the people that live in the zip codes with cash not coming back.

Thanks for the reply. If you are willing to I'm curious what solutions are you suggesting starting at the core and working out?

I am not an expert. I would follow the data.

I think data will show issues with light rail, loitering, and more patroling will equal less crime.

No doubt the value is less now then a year ago.

That's a pretty tired online rant/mantra.

We heard it when they were "thugs." We heard it when they knelt. We heard it when they were told to shut up and play basketball.

Bottom line... the NBA is thriving in part because the players have online, off-the-court personas that are being promoted and championed 365/24/7 by the league. The on-court stuff takes a backseat to offcourt drama sometimes.

Pro sports are just Housewives shows for men anymore.

I'm honestly not excited at all for the upcoming NFL season, and I've been a lifelong Vikings diehard. It's not a direct rejection of the politics, I'm just tired of all the bullshit, there is nowhere we can go anymore and just be people.

Can you imagine having that feeling of having nowhere to go and just be a person...basically your whole life?

Why not look at why there those issues are problems? Why are people loitering?
